Maybe the people in the water were just wondering if you had ever learned to surf before as you kept burning them? Especially being a random face. Everybody in lahaina thinks they shred. Even kooks from out of town. I dont know where pops and bowls (i assume you mean ala moana bowls?), so i also assume those are on oahu. So if they were head high/overhead there, in the same swell event there is absolutly NO way Lahaina harbor was also head high/overhead.
The Wocal got a nice dose of reality, thnx Graffer. Its funny how the East Coast gets a descent run of surf and now we have people comparing how our surf as good as the Pacific…wow.
depending on where you go in socal, a lot of the swells get shadowed by islands but the waves are still much bigger/push more water than on the east coast. its simple bathymetry and oceanography. btw, you're going to love living over there as compared to here. i wouldnt move back oh and i wouldnt drop in on people and try to burn them as you said you did in Hawaii. it definitely wont fly in socal
That is hands down some of the gnarliest footage of The Wedge I've seen. I can't believe how far out it's breaking, and I can't believe dude actually tries to boost at 1:30. Those guys out there, in anything that heavy, must be wired differently.
I don't really see a problem with the question. They ask, you tell them you were in Hawaii burning locals, BOOM! Now you just burned them! As far as your mechanic comment, uuuuummmm, you may want to rethink that.
Look at the lip on that beast in the bottom pic! Love how these kids charge. Love to catch that place on like a chest high day, but passed that, nope.
btw, i will punch anyone who uses one hand as a wave and the other hand with two fingers to try to illustrate what they did on a certain section
