hey whatever happened to that bunch of tools they used to call the Manasquan inlet cult ( mic ) did they finally get run out of there or what. If I remember right they were a bunch of boogie boarders from brielle or brick. just wondering cause I surfed inlet the other day and it was so mellow and cool I might make it my home break:cool
^^^ thats why i only surf the breaks in Deal I live a bikes distance from the squann inlet yet i STILL DRIVE to deal.. haha **** the environment
just had a good time there and was wondering if that mic band of clowns was still there or some other clan rules it now. would like to make it my new home break if all that nonsense is gone. anybody know any names I could throw out if I ever get in a jam there. thanx
lol @ people "ruling it" the only people who rule it are the ones who paddle aggressively and know how to position themselves. I want to see some little 18 year old tell me to get out or drop in on me. That doesn't happen because most of the people who surf it well are decent guys with universal respect and surf etiquette. I don't go near the place between may and Oct.
gee when I was there it was so mellow huh I guess it is still agro and maybe I hit it on an off day. so who are the guys that rip there cause I was the guy the day I was there
Wow- claiming a break on the web... What's next?? Seriously brah- why not check out Belmar- way better break, Specially after the beach replenishment - really messed up the sand at squan- you can tell on a size able swell.... NOW BELMAR on the other hand - the sand is just right plus the crew at Belmar is sooo much mellower on the water. And the parking is better.
yeah, forums are a good place to talk about certain aspects of surfing, but you have to remember that every time you mention a break, you're advertising it. Don't advertise where you surf...unless you want even more people to paddle out there.
Last time I surfed there it was 20 degrees, blowing pretty hard offshore and about 4 feet over head. Crowd was no problem. Traded waves for 2 hours with Scott Duerr, a girl who I believe was his daughter and about 4 other people. One of the more memorable sessions I've had in a while.
thanx guys gals I know I shouldn't have claimed it but I had so much fun the day I was there. all the boys were calling me into waves and just being so cool. basically let me have anything I wanted so that's why I claimed it. was stoked. so scotty still surfs there that's awesome he such a good dude. any of you live up there near the beach so maybe I can park in your driveway if I cant get a spot ?
