loved the airbrush jobs and brand logos on both rails, but the amount of laminates some people would put on was ridiculous. Guess that was a way to kinda look sponsored, without actually having company logos I remember buying a board in the late 80s some dude ordered custom, but he never picked up. Same deal: great airbrush (pastel blue and pink fades and negative space pin lines) and 3 GIANT DaKine logos on each side...plus, oversized laminates of the glasser on both sides and some other laminates I can't remember. I got the board at a steal, so I dealt with it.
Thanks. Dont see myself pulling it out on a bigger day although I know its supposed to be for that. smaller days are the goal.... http://www.shopsurfysurfy.com/fins/fibre-glass-fin-co-larry-allison-7in-flex-fin/?
Here are some epic, albeit blurry photos of the pioneers of surfing in San Diego. Sunset Cliffs specifically. Pics of them sawing their wood planks in the 50s.... One of these guys owned the company I worked for. They came into my restaurant and had lunch with me one day. I sat there in total silence, in awe of their stories. The only one that was dead already was Rob Luscomb. Probably the most humbling experience I have ever had with true legends. I felt honors to be around there. His son was the one who boated me out to the "grocery store" on the bayside.... Had to go to google plus to pull these up..... You know you are talking to a legit crew, when one of the best spots on Sunset Cliffs bares his name. OB, circa 1910???? Call the cops, I just let the cat out of the bag!!!
^^^^Really cool pics. Those old crusties are still in really good shape for old timers. All the old farts around here are soft from playing golf and canasta.
Thanks. Had it up for sale on here trying to fund another ride if anyone is interested, let me know. Original rainbow fin also included.
