Next up: Is Lewis Samuels moonlighting as SJB? Very possible? Awesome if it's true

Lewis is the most infamous 'publicly' known surf writer out there. Nobody pissed off that powers that be more than he, and nobody stirs up more controversy in general.
SJB is the most infamous underground surf related writer. Nobody pissed off that powers that be more than he, and nobody stirs up more controversy in general.

An entry from 2009 on Lewis' website http://postsurf.com/. Did SJB rise from the ashes?

    "This is not real life.

Go towards the light. The exit is up ahead.

Finish reading this post, close the window behind you, and emerge into the brightness of a new day. There's nothing here for you anymore. The PostSurf project is complete.

    I am not Lewis Samuels.

That ended long ago, amidst the pixels and ****ery, clammy clickthroughs, custard pudding bastards, vitriolic comments, tags, tapioca ****wits and strewn code. A writer does not write the truth about themselves. They leverage words to obscure things. They write the truth about other people, and leave themselves out of it.

The surf industry is not surfing. My brief forays into the dark, sickly heart of the matter have reminded me of that. Over the course of the last nine months on PostSurf, I've simply tried to remind others of this fact. The PostSurf story has proven my point.

Now I'm choosing to be born again, from the ashes of this enterprise. We learn inevitably, and with regret, that there are powers out there greater than ourselves. So now I'm free to wander squalid foreign shores; free to use words to obscure new truths in different ways.

If it seems like there's more to this decision than what I've revealed... well, remember what I told you about writers."

The ASP Power Rankings that pissed off the entire surf industry. Check out the review of Jeremy Flores and others. Sounds like something SJB would write:

Nice try dude. Going rouge on Swellinfo. Your the man!

What is a guy from Hawaii doing on Swellinfo? Don't you have some haoles to go beat up? Hey, did you move there for the excellent WiFi to facilitate your Swellinfo career? Nearly 2,000 posts already? You must have a trust fund? Did your parents move you there? Do they pay you to stay away?

Go flush yourself down the toilet.

No, I already called him out. Not via PM, but in the thread. Micah or any other real MOD, has an indication under their name that says "admin" or "moderator"... The simod2 account was JUST created, and it simply said "junior member", which indicates to me that it was just a user from here, that found a name with si and mod in it, it slipped through micah "no no name filter" and allowed the account to be created.

I basically said, great now micah is going to have to put a filter on any SI of any MOD being in any new users name, to avoid this.

It's funny, cause you see simod anything and you think its the cops. It was someones creative little joke, to make us think that breifly, one othese ghost mods was actually communicating with us...

I assume that is what happened. Took me a few posts to realize it, but the over all candor from the simod2 and the fact that he formed an opinion and posted it, thats when I stopped buying it.

The simod2 account was created on the same day an time as the simod4 accoutn which we know is a mod. It sat dormant for 7 months only to be used as a troll? Seems fishy to me

I don't know man. Now the whole member account is deleted? I still think this was one of the mod accounts created in the taming of the SI in January and someone "hacked" it for some fun.

Well, whoever it was, they "technically" had no authority on the site from that user account. Without the mod or admin designation on the account, it can do nothing but post like the rest of us. Maybe it was a real admin on a fake account. Not sure.

But any of us could have made usernames: simod22, si_mod35, etc. etc.

There is no master list of all admins, as Micah has eliminated that filter from the members search area, the designations still all show on users that have access to admin controls.

Whoever that was had none of it. And if they were banned, like was mentioned, then it was absolutely a bogus account. One that was never red flagged, because it was never used. Once it was used a few times and I said "Hey Micah, why does this guy claiming to be an admin not have the proper tags".. Then presto, no more simod2?

Just saying. I run websites. I run a few forums. If you don't specifically tell the system not to allow anything with the names "si" "admin" "mod" etc, it will allow you to name yourself whatever you want. In the past 24 hours, I bet that has changed. I also bet if a new user tried to make an accounted named "swellinfo2" it will not allow it. I am sure Micah blocks any users from bearing his company name.

Just saying, I am about 95% sure that was a bogus account.

how did they hack it? I hacked a forum once, bought a computer from a 7th street guy (shall remain nameless) and it had his admin login and I used it FOR MONTHS. Good times till they removed the forum

I hear ya. You must be quite diligent on getting yourself up to speed on these happenings, as the Volcom thread was a mid June thread and you just joined this month. And while it was an active topic, the only one that really took a personal affinity for it was Bill, which led me to actually posting a real picture of the guy I was talking about. It is mentioned now and again by others. But you dropped the Volcom Bomb in two threads yesterday, including a dance off. The dance off was hidden pretty deep in the thread.

If you are not Bill, I feel bad for him, because he has company now, with the same writing style, Even the line spacing in your posts is the same. And if you went so far as to clone his style and get us all going, you are a creative chap and I respect that....

But if you and Bill are separate entities, I think we need a new dance off. Or at least a writing battle. Like, two rappers, but in English.

Like I said, up until today, when I re read those two comments, I was thinking, wow, there is some dude down in Texas that would vibe real well with ol' Billy. Yooze guys should meet half way on a train and share a cup of coffee and some war stories.
