Got a knee question. At a the end of a wave Saturday I dropped down and my knee folded farther than it should have . . . Left foot on the board, kind of sat down, but that left knee bent farther than it normally would. I felt the crunch and it hurt, but not debilitating, and I felt fine as I kept surfing. Got out and the knee was sore - on the inside (medial) of my leg, above the head of my tibia. No swelling. A little painful at full lockout and reduced range of motion. Not slipping or locking . . . But sore. The pain is mild at most, but annoying , and now has moved around from the medial side to the lateral side. Any amateur diagnoses? I am pretty sure not a ligament tear of any kind. Possible meniscus damage,but pretty mild if that, no locking grinding or slipping. My guess would be bruising of the cartilage because it seems to have moved/spread. But I am no doc. TIA Ari
Sounds like the worst case it could be is a tear in the meniscus as you said...when I tore mine it was a very subtle moving while doing a guard pass that did it. If it is you have time, I treated mine like sh!t for months after the fact and was ok. Give it a week and if no improvement have it checked out, my .02.
but seriously, exactly what seldom said torn meniscus wont heal itself and if you did tear it you run the risk of it starting to shred and send spurs into you joint which further tear you up
Yeah,I'm about to join me that Dallas buyer's club. What I don't get is what our guv'mint been up to with this here aids thing, I mean foreign aids, ok, but then we got the aids for families with dependent chirren' and then we got the medic aids, what the heck?
