The new Bob Mould cd is killer. Not true hardcore punk, but still rocks. Very similar to his stuff with Husker Du.

I knew I'd catch some heat for that. This can be an SI theme song, especially with the emphasis on regional differences.

I love it. to me surfing is synonymous with punk rock, reminds me of the 90's when all the taylor steele videos came out and guys were starting to do big airs and spin.
One song that i can think of is "Mommy's little Monster" by Social D. It was in lost across america. Another one of my favs from that time is "Wrong side of the tracks" by strung out.

Same here man, for me, early 90's basically equates to surf/skate/punk...they're inseperable in my mind.

    Yep, yep, yep!

    "I was so wasted
    I was a hippie
    I was a burnout
    I was a dropout
I was out of my head

    I was a surfer
    I had a skateboard
    I was so heavy man,
    I lived on the strand
    I was so wasted"

Don't listen to those who suck the Rollins' D. They're just fans of spoken word and terrible acting.

Fun thread. Please don't forget Minutemen.-D. Boone, Watt & Hurley. Double Nickels on the Dime, greatest punk record(s) ever IMHO. "Glory of Man" always gives me chicken skin. Watch "We Jam Econo"- working class expression and aggression straight out of Pedro.

I heard Guttermouth for the first time, back in the early 90's, while watching a Christian Fletcher surf video.
Still my favorite song by them
