These are two boards that we have already made we want to share with you guys let us know what you think please and thank you!! -The guys at troll.
Nice artwork on the sunburst/tie dye effect board. I have always been interested in shaping, how did you get started? I have seen starter kits online, but with shipping, it is cheaper just to buy a board, and the foam is already shaped for you.(kinda takes the fun and creativity out of it.
those kits are nuts if thats true. If you tried REALLY HARD to buy your materials from the most expensive sources it would still cost no more than $300 for everything you need to make a board: blank $ 80 resin $ 40 cloth $ 30 fins, FCS plugs, leash cup $50 shipping $100 total $300 Anyone willing to spend an hour or two online will beat this price easily. granted you do need some basic tools.
scotty i'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with you. the do it yourself kits are cheaper than purchasing the items seperately once you add shipping (check out greenlight surf supply for the kits). -the shipping on a single blank alone is $75.00+. -you cant just buy fins and plugs, you need the tools and jigs to install them properly. -the shipping on items such as resin (and catalyst if your not using uv curing resin) is also very expensive because they are hazardous materials. i firmly believe that every surfer should shape themselves at least one board. its a great feeling riding your own creation and it will give you a new respect for the guys that are still hand crafting boards for a living. using a kit is a much better way to go for a first time shaper. brasco
