I have bought a used board of Craigslist once. Course I got to see it before paying. I would probably not buy a used one site unseen online. Now one of my best friends since HS shapes so he always has some 1-2 year old ones he is wanting to move to get new blanks so I usually buy those.

lucky you if a board has like 10 pics showing every detail of it, would that be trustworthy enough and had to pay thru paypal to ensure no fraudulent activity?

It's not really the fraud that worries me but having to ship the thing back if there is a bad ding or something. Plenty of folks buy used online with no issues so I think it would be pretty safe. My other issue is I'm like a kid at X Mas and hate to wait for stuff. I rarely order anything online becasue of that. I would say if you are good with the pics then order it if you like it. More than likey it will be fine.

I have bought boards online from sites before. Always worked out well for me, but they were legit retailers. Board has been what I was expecting every time. I say go for it. If its not what you expected or were promised, you learned your lesson. Legit retailers only, or purchase through craigslist and go see it first. If your buying a new board, you should already know what to expect, since you should not be buying a board based on pictures, size and dims alone. One must feel the stick in person, or a very similar one first.

I agree with this guy. I've bought 3 boards on craigslist. Each time I have been able to get insane deals on them and I always thoroughly inspect them before paying cash. If you don't like what you see in person then you get to go home without burning a hole in your pocket on a mistake.

OP is kind of asking a general question but getting responses across the board that answer it all. I've bought several boards off CL on both coasts. Best deals for sure and if you wait long enough the board you're looking for will eventually surface. Main issue is that flakes are frequent given the low form of communication. If you find a board you think you want then get the seller on the phone. Once they've spoken to you they're much less apt to flake.
