My lady's family are all in Melbourne and Sebastian. I love heading down there from Jax in the winter. 15 degree difference in water temps down there in the winter. Mebourne has a pretty cool vibe and stuff to do when it's flat. Nice little downtown area with some decent bars and restaraunts. Can't say that for Cocoa, not sure about Stuart either. New Smyrna is beautiful, but the surf is pretty crowded around the inlet. Southern Daytona/Ponce is pretty nice and quiet when it's not bike week. There's good biker crank too if you wanna get out of your mind.
"Not to mention that our governor is Rick Scott (for now)." Well, I will at least be one more vote for the other guy/gal.
Not sure you want to admit you'd vote republican on this forum pal. This place is usually a little more left friendly.
This guy is running too. We still have some hope left in the dirty south. http://wyllieforgovernor.com/meet-adrian-2/
"Not sure you want to admit you'd vote republican on this forum pal. This place is usually a little more left friendly." I am as a liberal as they come. haha It was a typo--I left out the word "other". that's why I said guy/gal.
Hey is this bong ban for real??? waytooold good luck I hope it works out for ya. What's the Juggalo population in Fla?
Yes the "bong ban" is a real thing, it was signed into act in 2013 by that cockbreathed gov-ner Rick Scott. When I was last down there, a year ago, head shops down there only sold bob marley tee shirts and hemp jewelry. Word on the streets is that nobody enforces it now though. Juggalos are EVERYWHERE
Jupiter (northern Palm Beach County) has good surf about six months a year, and it is warm. But from early June to mid September it goes flat, and Brevard is way more consistent and has a lower cost of living. But if you have money to buy a nice place, and money to travel during the flat spell ( it is pumping now in Nica and Costa Rica), then the lifestyle and the surf in Jupiter is really nice. Great fishing in Jupiter, as it is close to the Gulfstream, but southern Brevard (especially Sebastian Inlet) has great fishing too. It is more laid back in the Melbourne Beach area than most other places, but it gets cold in the winter compared to Jupiter. I am thinking of retiring to southern Brevard county, and setting up a retirement home on the beach for old surfers called "Shady Barrels". Surf movies, tiki pool bar, bus trips to Ron Jons and Typhoon Lagoon, luaus and clam bakes, blood pressure screening, classes in board building, yoga, tai chi, massage.........
Big "old" dogs. Little ruff round the edges and our bark is a little bit bigger then our bite. haha. DPS and Betty hope you all caught some of that bertha swell. I'm laid up with a sprained ankle right now, cant wait to get back out there.
Hey bud sorry to hear bout your ankle, you'll be back in the water in no time. Yeah I got it good On early Tuesday afternoon till sundown, long lulls but worth the wait on the sets.
