I don't mind it...just lmk where I can see my kooky video. and I agree with the proximity statement...had one hover over me from out of nowhere and thought I was about to be attacked by bees...video must have been hilarious.

I agree, I would like to see myself surf, so if a drone is around, I want to see the footage. The bee think had me laughing too.

I guess I've been living under a rock, because I've never seen one, and knew little to nothing about them until reading this thread. The footage looks nice and smooth. Pretty impressive technology really. Much better than the Go Pro footage focused at someones face. I see those mounts in the lineup contantly and don't get it. I mean, the faces people make as they are paddling for a wave, who wants to see that?

unless there is a real (and by real i mean someone somewhere has been injured by this thing) i don't see the harm in these things other than people having an ultra sensitive "personal bubble". most of us here (from what i've read) sit in the line up closer to other people than these things get...and a lot of us here surf the same waves (unintentionally or otherwise) as others closer than these things get. i mean, the opposition to this sounds like the 12 year old girl that doesn't want her picture taken and constantly turns her face away from a camera.

so with those things aside and all of the much more real "dangers" out there (such as rocks, reefs, 23 ft bombs in belmar, hypothermia, sharp fins, sharks, leashes, sharp nosed boards used for assault in FL, kooks, french-canadians, njshredmachine, rips, pollution) I don't get the whole i hate drones thing...is it really worth it?

maybe age has caught up and my apathy has grown to equal it...my suggestion for those that are offended by these things is to read 1984 or a Vonnegut and write a 10 pg single spaced essay with drones and the negative consequences of video technology on modern society as a thesis and submit it to the New Yorker.

I've seen drones over the popular break near my place. Drones are good in every way.

If I get to see some footage of myself: Good.
If I get to see the operator cry when somebody scrambles his control signal and his $3K toy crashes and sinks: Great!
If I get to see some luddite beat the crap out of the operator and smash up his equipment, then get hauled off by the cops, making for one less douche in the water: Awesome!!

I saw a show on nat geo, they paired up one of those quadcopters vs the best sniper alive in the world.the sniper lost.they were toying with him at the end and he finally clipped it.it was pretty funny.and where do u get depleted uranium buckshot?that can come in handy.im gonna get a drone and load it with chum and have it drop chum on the 300 kooks in Belmar on a 23 foot day so I can score a 23footer by my lonesome

Id say #4 or #5 3.5" magnum turkey****ers should do the trick. Modified or Improved choke.

yeah on the chokes. an open one might just cripple; whereas full might make TOO MUCH of a statement.
