If it's the kid I'm thinking of, I saw one guy almost get bludgeoned by that SUP...recall seeing a guy fall off a yellow SUP and watching the thing come literally within inches of a guy's head...

There are some decent SUP'er's and that's all well and good, but when your snaking every wave from people, it's total BS...

I was really wishing I had have brought my longer board, an old 8' Funshape...I think I would have had a lot more fun....not that I didn't catch some great waves...but it seemed like those beautiful waves were a lot kinder to people with longer crafts.

Heading down early mañana....dusting off that old Funshape ...I figure wth...

This shoulder injury f'd me up over this past winter and turned me into a fat a$$, my pop-up timing is really off compared to pre-injury.

You're absolutely right, call em out when they do that crap, same goes for everybody else. Sorry to hear bout your shoulder, I've had shoulder issues most of my life, just take it slow and let the body heal and get stronger, surfing made mine better over time, but had to control my paddling speed and pay close attention to proper technique. Haven't had an issue in about 3 years, where it use to just pop out the joint on the reg.

Thanks, DP....ever since I got a cortisone shot, my shoulder feels great.

Now it's not the shoulder handicapping me, it's my gut...lol

I'm headed down the same road this week: left shoulder just getting worse. Good for the first hour but then the popping & the pain, not a good time. Have done weekly PT; helps a lot but hasn't been the cure. I figure get an MRI, see what's what & also get a cortisone shot to get me through the next few surf treks - - hopefully.

KB, what was your shoulder diagnosis?
Also, agreed on the bigger boards catching more of Bertie's magic. Def way smaller than Artie & more rolling than were Artie's set waves.

    All these treads are hilarious.

Honestly, in NE we just got Artie's too strong offshores. Swell was there for a couple dope sessions but window was tight. The math added up for a good AM sesh based on reports but it got below shoulder after that. Don't even know the hell when that was. Too focused on that Beetha wahine. It's aight though in the end. We took that girl out for a night and a half on the town. Took her out tha hood, kept her lookin good. Even in, even out. Everyone's pleased. Let's have more of those weather systems or even better, and we'll be ok.

Torn Labrum....I don't think it was a real bad tear, luckily.
Shoulder felt 100% better immediately after getting the shot, and he gave me an Rx for a prescription Ibuprofin....seems to have worked. It's been more than 3 months since I got the shot and still have no discomfort...just crossing my fingers it healed.

Cortisone shot will def help you out, I would say make the appt. and do it....downside, if the pain comes back, you're only allowed to get two more...then you have to have surgery.

Considering I couldn't even do a push-up without excruciating pain, I thought it was much worse.

Now if I could only get rid of the tendonitis in my elbow...

Good luck, man...I know how frustrating it can be.

    Gracias.

Just a theory but maybe your elbow tendinitis is from hoisting the Dog 60's & 90's..... :D
