Got no prob if they stay out of my way, I don't really get it though, why sit down when you could stand? And I'm not talking about taking a piss either. Maybe there is some kind of parallel though?

Once I was going down the line and one of these eskimo rolled in front of me and I inadvertently rail slid the bottom of his yak while he was upside down and kept going. Broke off my center fcs fin and dinged my board though. I just rode it twinny after that.

There was a dude on one of these on Wednesday Bertha swell in Rhodey. Packed lineup. Dude is ALL over the place. Not just a volume issue but what's that thing made of?!?! Don't want to eat that to the head. Bro was surfkayaking with reckless abandon. Like in Minnesota, make that cat register that PWC then stay away from the break.

Hey emass I saw you talking about cruising the LB at the convention ctr in Asbury. Next time you hit dirty jerz you gotta check out the hills in Hartshorne park for carving the LB.

we talking longboard/carving board or little board with little wheels. If you like to do turns on hills heartshorne and the roads leading up to the place are the spot. Unlike surfing crowds are fun.

I would agree with most of you- for in general most of the kayakers are NG... But I do gotta say that it can be done... I got a friend who could probably ride the wave better in a kayak them most could surf... He kills it... And he use to only go out when it was sizable. But he got super busy with work inthe last few years and doesn't make it out as much

Not thrilled to see a kayaker fishing & also apparently tossing chum into the water just outside the break.

Been seeing this a lot lately in Maryland. Nearly got my head taken off by a loose sup and had kayakers dropping huge hunks of meat just outside of the lineup a few evenings ago. It's dangerous being a surfer. As far as a kayaker being better than most surfers? Doubt it, and even more dangerous than SUPs, those things turn sideways and can take out 5 swimmers/surfers at a time.

I dig the sounds of that.

Carver bro, not a LB. 31" or 34". I trow on a variety of wheels, some big, some small. Gonna have to check out that terrain next Jerz swing.

I have a SOT surf kayak, and it can be a blast during the summer; another way to enjoy being in the water. I have thigh straps and skegs on my boat which gives me a lot of control. I only use my surfboard or bodyboard around other surfers. I find a different place if I want to bodysurf or use my surf kayak.

That being said, I see tons of people who use lifeguard-style Scramblers with little to no control barreling down the lineup with a 35-40 pound missile sliding sideways to the beach. Surf kayaks and regular surfing don't really suit one another because you catch the wave much further back on surf kayak and you definitely do not want to crash into it in the water. Definitely a blast in the right conidtions, though.

This happened to me two years ago i just got off a wave and was just getting situated on the board to paddle back out. i punched through a wave and this thing was right behind it on the next. i had no time to do anything but get run over. what pissed me off the most was the look on the guys face as he was coming. he knew he had no control and had this sorry look on him. and he didn't stop after the hit. he just kept moving. He was apologetic as he got back out but i just couldn't keep my cool.

I think if I ever effed my legs or back up even more so than I already have I'd probably get one of those small ocean kayaks and use that as my vessel of choice to catch waves, obviously not at a main crowded peak. Would be fun though to have one and just SIT out in the line up a little ways down with a camera and get some good shots

Ya, I was down at Assateague Virginia when bertha came through and the day after, myself and one other guy had been surfing in this area for about an hour and here comes two "Surf Kayakers" from the beach Father and Son I think.
About the time I was paddling for a wave here comes this kayak out of nowhere and clipped the front of my board and my right arm. Both of us ended up wiping out, but what the #@##...
I guess if you go by surf etiquette, he had the wave before I did, but damn, the boat is 5 feet longer than my board and I never saw him until he hit me..
I don't mind sharing the waves but give me a break, boat verses a surfboard = surfer losses everytime!!
