beware the degenerative effects of "fumes."
its one of our untold stories.

True... That's one of the big reasons why I prefer epoxy. Keep it off your skin, avoid heavy duty solvents like acetone (white vinegar is all you need for cleanup), and recycle your off-cuts with all your other styrofoam. It's about as safe as you can get... human health wise and environmentally... for a foam-and-fiberglass board.

Actually, that 5'7" cookie would probably make a very nice kneeboard.

Latest experiment. (the center fcs fin was an after thought because it was a little too loose, I might make another one as a quad). I also tried my hand at making some maple FCS fins, yet to laminate those though (WATCH OUT ROY!) Glassing credit goes to Austin, he does amazing work and our home glass jobs were OK at best.

has anyone attempted to laminate a board using carbon fiber cloth? I want to try it but it's like $40/yard.

ok - but the story gets dumbed down cause affected parties might be on this forum....

family 4, father shaper, he did murder/suicide of all, nobody (really) knows why....but he shaped fiberglass
boards and had just gotten a big sailboard order. had no record; no indication of what was to come....again,
nobody really knows why...but the arrows pointed towards the fumes...

Winging it. I started with some alaias Alaias.jpg but they're more trouble than they're worth. Tough to surf and it's very hard for me to dedicate a day of good waves to flopping around on them. I sold a couple and have a wall hanger.

Next was this beast. HWS1.jpg . This is WAAAAAaaay overbuilt. Basically a hollow battering ram. Fun to ride for a little bit and it gets some attention every time I take it out.

This one IMG_0082.jpg 1292885_624940160860466_1821045696_o.jpg was my most successful one. Still heavy. Here's the fin set up. Sorry Chuck Taylor for bringing this up again. IMG_5434.jpg

    More coming.
