3:00 minute mark my uncle Dee McClean. LEGEND. 2nd generation of Rockaway surfers. He has some outrageous stories about the NY crowd heading out for winters in HI. A bunch of those guys are still out there. He rode Makaha at 15 foot Hawaiian. Nuff said. Thanks for the share - that was really cool.
Yeah mon, awesome video. That's cool they have that locker setup. Spent a few weekends in Long Beach, honestly dug the scene. Good vibe in the water too...really made me appreciate the water quality further north though.
good vid yank, I gotta say though, I am thankful to surf elsewhere, I know its quality there on its day, but, many humans live there.The locker setup is so boss, cant happen publically now, remember bus station lockers?
one time i had a roommate whose only job was a monthly visit to a locker in grand central station.......... when they had 'em. his girlfriends' dad was in the mob. he bought the coolest trimaran sailboat. I LOVED THAT BOAT! she coked herself to death. he's now a lawyer. ( if you're on this forum....hi dave!)...
