Ill start off with the shark, because that's what you clicked this thread for. Both of these things happened about 15 minutes apart from each other. Both of these things happened near the OSV beach. A surf fisher caught a shark and he was reeling it in and his buddy (maybe 22-28 years old) was fishing the shark out of the water (about thigh high water) was trying to grab the shark by its tail, but it spun around and took a chunk out of his foot. He let go of the shark and ran up the beach screaming, leaving a thick trail of blood up the beach. From what me and my buddies saw (up close. We were helping out through this whole thing) his foot had major damage. Bitten tendons in his foot were showing, white bone was showing, he was gushing blood. His girlfriend cried and she kissed him. He was calm, however I could see the shock on his face. The Awesome AI crew with their little quad came and took him away, one of my buddies stayed on the vehicle to help out. A man about ¿70? Years old was on a canoeing class thing, and im not sure what happened but i believed he had a heart attack or swallowed water or something along those lines. Here comes golf cart to the rescue.. They also had a truck (which got stuck) but they put the guy on the back of the quad and attempted to take him back to the main roads. The quad repeatedly was getting stuck in the sand. Me and my buddies and a few other people ran over to push the quad. Then about 8 frat guys start running down the beach to help and we all push this quad in attempt to save this mans life, all while they were performing cpr on him. In my opinion, i dont think they got him to any kind of medical attention. I think his name was/is ¿Bob? I heard someone shout "Cmon Bob!" But im not sure if thats his name. You'll probably see it in the local news if you're in the area. So basically the waves weren't even that great and people got hurt.
I had a spinner shark jump and spin right in front of me when I was sitting waiting for a set, bout 4ft, some else saw a Bull, tis the season This was last week
Saw a bull? Its really hard to identify a shark when looking at it through murky water. Spinner sharks aren't usually aggressive though. Where was this?
I'm guessing it was central FL, given DawnPatrol's location ID. I'm also on the central FL east coast on vacation, and I can say that last week the water was smooth as glass and incredibly clear. It was Lake Atlantic. Neurosurgeons could've performed successful brain surgery in the ocean, it was so docile.
I saw a Bull two years ago of the east beach on Bald Head Isl. He was about 7 feet long and about 10 yds away at his closest to me. Scary mutha flunkers.
Hawk! It was gnarly hour there! It's Brandon, black SUV. I'm sure we were in conversation during this period since not too many of us witnessed. What a crazy event that was!
Ahhhh New Smryna as in the shark capitol of like the world? Yeah, I'd be too spooked to surf there. Yeah, thats a different story with bulls.
Hey there, I'm the one that got bit today. I was there to surf and thought I would help a friend reel that **** in. I guess "stupid surf fishers" take up all the room for surfers huh? I can share a beach with no problem, but apparently a bad accident was enough to upset you and preach behind a pc. If you helped me out I am greatly appreciative and thank you. Don't go back and try to talk **** though. I have a cut artery and ligament and will need a skin graft. Were all out there to enjoy the surf and sun, but I guess I'm the dumb one because I miss judged the size of the shark. Thanks man!
Quick recoveries man. That was insane. You handled that like a champion though. I have never seen anyone get an injury like that and respond like you did. Mad props.
its been my experience that......if you are aware.....there is frequent drama at assateague....and lots of good fun and camping ....and lesbians.
