A guy was fishing when he caught a 4 foot dusky shark. He beached it, grabbed its tail and it turned and bit him in the foot. The top of his foot was wide open, lacerated tissue and exposed tendons.<br />We put on a tourniquet and got him and got him to the parking lot where an ambulance came a few minutes later. Pretty gnarly!

Dunno, maybe it's just me, but what is your foot doing any where near the mouth of a 4' shark or any shark? I've herds whimsical tales if sharks having dangerously sharp teeth, can't confirm with personal experience though.

I was surfing S side of Frisco pier with a hundred of my closest friends. I took off on a wave that closed out on me. While spinning in the white water, I felt a pressure on my finger and it started stinging. When I came up and got by out I was bleeding like a pig. Blood was dripping off my elbow. That sure cleared the line up. I caught another wave in and my finger looked like it was sliced down the side by a razor blade. Some contended it was a blue fish. If it was, I wouldn't have that finger.

I HATE THE SOUTH SIDE. I wish (minus the 2 or 3 times a year its actually worth it) I could have all my gas money back from doing the frisco disco.

AND yes, I've seen a few over there myself. One came up right underneath my board and cleared the lineup as well no more than a month or two ago.

the dude (that got bit) needs tendon replacement. He was pretty calm though. "Look what I caught, Suzy!" Turned into "Look what I caught did to me, Suzy!"

I am sure you already know this, but the guy is a member here and he is talking about the bite in the other thread.

i was coming on the orv entrance yesterday afternoon at ai, and it looked like someone either was drowning or heart attack...they were doing cpr when I was there...they put him in the ambulance and the ambulance was with him for 15 minutes...i was trying to figure out why they didnt rush him to the hospital...hoping he just came around in and was no need to rush him.

When going to the OBX, I only take as much as I can eat in the time allotted for the piggies to get their azz out of the car and up to my window. A bowl is hard to swallow. Fatties are the way to go.

I've seen people get busted smokin' on the ferry to the OBX more than once.

Often there's check points going into OBX from both sides and even at the Border in Moyock. Before the bypass was put in, Dogs and lines of piggies were in the border one. we had plenty of time to take care of everything because of the backed up traffic almost to Hickery Hardees.

it's deja vu all over again...sounds like assateague is a foot buffet for sharks

if there was also a guy that drowned and had a heart attack at the same time this definitely a beach i never want to visit

Sharks and terrible surf to boot. I heard the other day about how unfriendly people are in the water, too. NJ is a much better option.

Sharks tend to get pissed when hooked and dragged up the beach. Dumb fisherman should have been more careful.

    Hmmmmmm.......

Well, how about we lobby Micah to post 'code red' for the eastern shore FUcast every day from May 1 through today (01Sept)......? That ought to cut down on the madding crowds.
