Was looking over one of my boards and noticed a crack in the glass along the tail. It failed the nail scrape test so I cut out a little bit of glass with a razor and filled the resulting gap with a little bit of q-cell/resin mix and sanded down. See pic - the brighter white spot is the filled in gap.

Being that all boards seem to be prone to hairline cracks in the tail, should I just go ahead and put a patch of glass across the whole tail? I was thinking one small piece to cover that spot which would wrap around the bottom of the board, and a larger piece across the entire flat section of the tail which would wrap from the bottom of the board to the deck. Does that make sense?

I don't have a whole lot of ding repair experience under my belt, any advice is appreciated.

IMG_0560.jpg

I would consider putting a little cloth back there but as long as you put a nice coat of resin back there and hot coat it I wouldn't say you need to.

You could probably quite cell it and lay a nice hot coat on there (or two)

Hard to make out in the picture.

My ding repair guy put 8oz glass on the tail of my new flyer because they are glassed so thin and tend to dent and crack.
