Brahs yesterday was sick! Absolutely firing and actually decent size. My roommate and I started surfing at first light at the spot where I had my first paddle out in 2007 and where a year later I taught him how to surf at that spot. So needless to say its our spot. We surfed all morning and at 10 when the tide started dropping we went back to the crib to switch boards. We were gone only 30min and when we got back it was bombing like never before. By now the rain had stopped and people started flooding the beach (its okay tho because it was all just family). We were getting slotted every single wave and we were just stoking out. We were coming out the back of waves just screaming our heads off and just claiming like never before. The stoke in the water yesterday was unreal. I paddle back out after catching a wave and I said the words "Dude its so sick and we have it all to ourselves." Then watta ya know, a longboarder and a shortboarder start paddling out and I wasnt too concerned because im one to share stoke with everyone and these guys were about 20 yrds away. About 10minutes goes by and They start working their way down to us. So naturally I started paddling north up the beach to get away from them and sure enough they followed. I sat on board and just excepted that we didnt have our peak anymore. Then this shortboarder goes for a wave with his wimpy a$$ paddle and doesnt catch it and just has this major freakout dropping the f bomb a lot of times and other words. Then this set rolls through to I paddle to it, catch it, but i lost my balance on the first turn. So im paddling back out and I just see this shortboarder right infront of me going for this close out, and im yelling NONONONONONONONONONONO but he still goes and he hits me. His leash gets wrapped around my ankle and theres another head high wave coming. I quickly remove his leash and get passed the set and I asked him why? And this dude says "I thought I could make it". A f&^%ing autistic cow could look at that wave and see there was no chance in hell you could make it. So I start paddling more and more up the beach where i get this super long left and hop off. Start to paddle back out and here comes this same guy within 5min of the last and this time he not only hit me with his board he hit my board. Im furious. Ive never had more surf rage in me. I looked over my board to see if there was any damage and there wasnt. I get back out to the lineup and this kook tells me "You dinged my new board man". And I lost it. I told him to learn surf etiquette and asked them why they were out here. And the other guy says "this is our spot". I honestly thought a hodown throwdown was about to happen. I asked him how long he had been surfing here and he said a few months i shook my head and paddle for the first wave that rolled through 3 turns to the beach and I was done. We left the beach went to another break and continued on. Im super happy his new board got wrecked because he deserved it. Moral of the story is, if you suck and dont know what youre doing, stay at home and watch the cam.
This will be me in about an hour...I blame it all on Surfline. If it's green, they will come. Dune, you're a good dude. Problem with this world is people like him who are just so entitled. Did he also say he is a winter surfer? That's usually what these geniuses say in vb when they do this as if they are justified. Nope, killakiel is justified. Perhaps articulating certain scenarios involving a long paddle back to shore without their board is the ticket In the age of the go pro, these idiots are likely to capture you protecting yourself and using it to get the law involved. They have their evidence that you endangered them. Tell peeps you surf without a leash if they're close. You know man, this board just goes flying all over and hits people all the time. Just a heads up
love those memes haha. Dune, i wish i could have gotten down there man. town looked like it was firing the whole morning.
Dude, are you new? Take your own advice. You're a total kook. You blew one wave, got stuck in the impact zone, and then tried to call a dude off a wave because you don't have the basic skill to get out of the way. THEN you're paddling back after a left, and you get in the way AGAIN. Then you whine about etiquette. I would've burned you on every wave from that point on until you gave up and went home. Rider has priority. Doesn't matter if it's a closeout. You gonna call a dude off dropping a wave because you're flailing around in the impact zone?! Get the F outta the way, and if you can't, learn to paddle and duckdive before you leave the whitewash, barney. If there's a rider up on a wave, you paddle for the whitewash and eat it like a man, not paddle for the shoulder and f up the rider's line like an entitled little d-bag.
You seem like the type of guy that sits on the beach with his board in the sand and his wetty half on for 30min deciding where would be the "easier" place to paddle out.
Punch him in the face.. Knock his teeth out. quit acting like a girl... quit falling off small waves. get a girlfriend.. do i need to continue to go on further along?
