the near future - no mo NFL due loss of interest; stadiums converted into wave pools and crowds flock
to them cause they're also giant tiki bars and water parks.

The NFL isn't going anywhere. I have been shocked at how many female fans I have encountered lately that simply don't care about any of the internal politics. The people up in arms are not even fans....

Ohh well. Any group, such as the NFL and MLB is a representation of our community and country as a whole. There are no more men (percentage wise) in the NFL being abusive than there are men in our society as a whole....

College sports is way more f'ed than the NFL. Paying players. Ohh man. Its all down hill from here.

Ray Rice is going to sue the league and win. Goodell and his cronies are such tools. Throwing whomever they can on the chopping block to save face. Ray Rice would have gotten a 6-8 game suspension from JUMP STREET if Goodell did the right thing. Now the man's career is over and he got the death sentence from the league all to cover up their own mess. Meanwhile, Ray Rice and his lawyers both stated that Ray Rice told Goodell to his face that he cold cocked his wife. There is nothing in that tape, that Rice didn't already come clean about....

So, although Rice got what he deserves, I hope he at least takes the commish down with him. Shame on him for letting Rice take all the blame for his own mistakes. 6 games is the new standard rule... But Rice got a lifetime basically.

I bet you ratings haven't gone down one bit in the last week. Cause all the people whining dont even watch the game because its "too violent of a sport"....

why does wifey get a pass?
being a willful punching bag helps the situation?
his punching her an act of cowardice...yet, how did they get there?
    all this happened in ac
one time a check-in complained about the lumpy bed in their hotel.
but it wasn't lumps - it was a stiff.
lots of stuff happens in ac

Haha, I hear you, but that is a whole different thread, whole different topic. You can just see where the NFL is heading with all this. My whole thing is ALWAYS, due process. AP. Let the courts figure out whats what before you do ANYTHING. Same with the guy from SF and the guy from CAR.... Let things play out... You can't just go suspending a guy and taking million from him everytime someone speaks up... I mean, it has happened a million times in the past, where someone's baby mama, or someone ex hates them and wants a piece of the pie, so they make some crazy claim....

its not the NFLs job to play police. They are simply employers.

And you are right about A/C and the cops. When they asked the local PD why they were so lenient on Ray Rice, they said, we see about 50 of these cases per DAY. They said in AC, murder police stay the busiest, and simple DV claims are nothing to them. Ray Rice got the same penalty every other guy in AC got that day....

Its just a slippery slope to start casting judgement on people before the police and authorities do. Its only a matter of time before something blows up completely. I.E. Kobe Bryant. False Claim. Ben Rothlesberger. False Claim... and so on and so on.....

And I can't vouch for his wifey or what her whole place in the was. Yeah, I dont know what led up to this, but I was somewhat defensive of Rice before I saw the tape... After that, I am just left thinking, okay, he is a punk, he spit on her twice and then knocked her out with a left hook. Didn't even flinch afterward. Just sat there while she was laid out....

But still, that is a 6 game offense, said the new code of conduct policy... But race got double jeopardy. Sucks for him .

The holier-than-thou outrage over the Ray Rice beat down its ridiculous. Unwatchable. Again another example why the sport is becoming unwatchable. It's a soap opera for "men".

Sorry for posting another link but this is a must watch for all of us but most importantly the "Vice President of Social Responsibility". I almost want to email it to her. Maybe we all should. I'll look up her email.

The main problem with NFL is the amount of commercials. I counted 120 during Sunday Night Football last night, not including halftime. Yes the penalties are out of hand, much like the amount of laws and taxes in America today, but I can deal with that and instant replay as long as they get calls right. Not a fan of soccer, but American sports should take a lesson from European football by flashing company logos on the fence surrounding the field instead of interrupting play every two seconds to show another Bud Light or Cialis commercial. NFL is still great entertainment, and it's not going anywhere, but the way it's being presented is borderline unwatchable.

In the time it spent me to type this reply, the NFL made 27 million dollars.

If football goes down, what exactly would take its place?

Maybe 50 years from now some technologically based sport will take over because humans will be so programmed to think that virtual reality is reality. Until then football will continue to make Billions especially when it goes world wide….London will have a team within the next 5 years.

$, $, $, $, $.... Commercials aren't going anywhere. They are increasing the ways to stop play as we speak. It sucks, but that is life. As long as you can avoid your phone for a couple hours, just DVR it and watch no commericals.... Or if you stream out of area games, most of the Euro broadcasts don't air commericals at all. Its just a strange, blank screen, but it is better than spending 5 minutes being force fed commercials.

If that's the case, they should invest in some combat skills for player's wives. What the F was Mrs. Rice thinking sticking her chin out there like that? Keep your chin down and your hands up Janay.

Or just move a team to South Carolina. Fact: It is still "legal" to beat your wife on the court house steps, every sunday. This is actually a fact. To this day. I heard rumors that there is a new clause, that says you must use a "switch" so long as that switch is no larger in diameter than your thumb.....

That way, instead of laying out the Wifey in an elevator, you just say, you know what, we will settle this on Sunday.

If you think I am making this up. Google it.

Some more of my favorites that are still on the books in the Dirty Dirty:

    1) When approaching a four way or blind intersection in a non-horse driven vehicle you must stop 100 ft from the intersection and discharge a firearm into the air to warn horse traffic.

    2) Horses may not be kept in bathtubs.

    3) By law, if a man promises to marry an unmarried woman, the marriage must take place.

    4) A permit must be obtained to fire a missile

Now you folks to the North, please, please try and tell me how this state isn't one of the best in the country.
