Sweet waves where they're at. Just watched this new season last night. I always think that if I was on it, I wouldn't last a farting spell. Everyone would think I was really industrious at first. Until they find out I was working on a board. then, too late. vote me off if you want. I'm getting what I came for.

This first episode, one team makes a shelter and covers it with branches from a Manzanillo tree. One guy starts to go blind. you'da thunk they would have done a little research on what not to touch.

So when you're burning up on a black sand beach and think this is shade, think again.

Is that the show that the one armed surf chick is on. Bethany Hamilton I believe her name is. Don't really watch tv much but I'm pretty sure I saw a commercial with her on some show like that

That's some crap with a limey or aussie who takes celebs out into the wilderness. This show is about taking well off people and making them live like 75% of the rest of the world.

Hey BM bro, I saw that same commercial the other day. This must be the one. I made a note to self to watch an episode of this since she's in it because I respect her and she's a great influence. Plus, I'll watch a show if it's got a surfer on it like her, even though I don't typically watch tube like you don't either.

A fuggin Terciopelo will get their juices flowing. It's part of the Fer du Lance family but looks like it's skin is satin. They're bad azz. most snakes run and hide, these hide to bite you when one walk by.

I went to El Mundo de Serprientes up in the Poas earlier this century. They had one in a box with chicken wire protecting us. The guy there said a biologist felt the need to touch it, got bit, and had 4 hours to get help. I asked him if it was true that people who get bit, automatically cut off what was bitten. He mention that his granddad got bit and drank a certain liquor, that saved him. Guaro? axed. Yep. I told him how Guaro saved the wife when she got stung in the arm between 2 veins, and this other guy we ment got stung by a catapillar and swelled up like a tick.

Those f*cks at CBS "rented out" over a mile of coast, including two beaches with real good surf, and are denying all access while they film. I was there in May, hiked 45 minutes in blistering heat to get to a wave I'd surfed on a boat trip before, watched a set unload and fire off absolutely flawless 6-8 foot left barrels one after the next, started running toward the surf.....and was turned away by a guard wielding a massive machete. F*ck survivor.

For what it's worth, too, they are not in the wilderness whatsoever. There's an operational resort at one of the beaches they are "surviving" at, and the whole thing is just down the road from a tourist-filled party town.

The first time I traveled to Costa Rica, each time we ordered Guaro the same thing would happen. One of us would say "Guaro por favor", and the waiter would look at us and say, "Guaro?" with big eyes. We would go, "si, guaro", and he would go, "GUARO!, HAHAHA!" and come back with our shots. No matter where we went, the same ritual would happen. We would always limit it to one shot (with a couple beers), since early am is the call for waves. I always bring a bottle of it home, but it never lasts long enough. Puts Kaissers vodka to shame. Probably more flammable too.

Key on Survivor is to be first guy on the jury. Then you surf for everyday, party all night until they wrap it up.

One trip I was bringing 10 big glass bottles home. I buble wrapped each one, put them in a bucket. Put the bucket in a duffle bag and wrapped the wifes life vest around it inside. the filled it up with all our cloths. when we got to the US and had to take our crap thru la migra, we could smell guaro before the turnstile started. when it came around my duffle was on top of a giant leather suitcase. The case was completely wet and there was a small wet dot on mine. I hoped it was his guaro. when we got home, 8 of 10 bottles broken. Duffle was a saturated wick. we washed and wash all day to get guaro stench out. nada. UNTIL we put it in the drier. then it all evaporated. plus we didn't have to worry about bichos coming home with us.
