yeah that's gone. they brought in and lowered the right outfield wall and part of the left-center wall, moved the visiting bullpen, and added some outfield seating. but all that was done for the sake of the game .... boooring.

but the changes to the inside and concessions kick arse.
have you ever been to seaside market? cardiff crack??? yeah, that's at petco now.
and Rimel's opened a rooftop grill.... there's a beer garden for Stone and Ballast Point, Karl Strauss red trolly is everywhere. they even have a tequila/margarita vendor! It's all local foods and vendors which is good.... nicely done.

I used to love playing the game, but I can hardly stand watching it on tv. going to a game with good friends at a good ballpark is all I need. go padres, you sad sack of ball chuckers.

Wow, thats whats up. You had me at Stone and Ballast Point. What I wouldn't give for a frosty sculpin right now.

Sounds great. Glad they moved that wall in. They need any help they can get. One of the toughest parks in the majors. The ocean and sea level doesn't help their cause either, unless you love pitching duels. The O's are my heart, but I love me some padres man. So many fond memories of that ball park. Can't figure out for the life of me why they don't just build a stadium in that adjacent lot over by the Trolley garage thing. All that open space. It would be a setup just like in Baltimore, and Petco was actually designed after most of the concepts of Camden yards. Take the trolley right down town and watch NFL or MLB. That is what they need to do. The only crap part of all of downtown is over there by that vacant lot, going back towards 10-14th..... they fix up those 4 blocks, there isn't a crummy square inch of downtown. excuse me... "East Village".....

Their other plans are to move the Chargers to Chulujana or out in the desert. Move em downtown. Petco is the truth. The Q is a dump. A complete dump of a stadium. Cool feeling. Gives you that old school vibe, but its a dump.

The AL Wild Card game tonight has been a good one. A's vs Royals. Now 7-7 going into the 10th inning.
    Love that Post-season baseball!

Royals won in the 12th (past my usual bedtime) 9-8. Exciting game throughout.
Quite a week already for KC, with the Chiefs punishing the Pats 41-14 on MNF.

I recall watching the Yanks pound the Birds, many times, at Memorial Stadium. Place was a dump but it had character. Camden Yards is still one of the greatest parks, esp for early arrival to check out BP.

Angelos must be locked in a basement where he can't ruin the Balto team anymore.

Enjoy the post-season, Fran. The Birds will be back to doormat status in two seasons.

Thanks Yank. We have built a pretty solid team through the farm systems. We have the most potent offense in baseball and a lock down bull pen. We don't spend 250 Mil in payroll, but that is the beauty of it all. The Orioles have made the playoffs 2 out of the last 3 years, only barely missing them last year, and the AL East is still one of the hardest divisions in baseball.

Just saying, the teams with the highest payrolls have not been as dominant as they have been in the past. Baseball is changing. Less PEDS = pitching duels. Not saying that Orioles are going to be contenders every single year, but they will certainly not be "doormats" for at least 5 more years. The contracts and core of the squad is intact for the next few years and with Buck and the helm, I will enter each year confident that the O's will win a lot of games and be in the chase for the AL east. And if the orioles stay consistent another year or so, Cal is going to be back involved with the organization and then the whole fan base can take a deep breath and remember the days where there was always a culture of winning in Baltimore.

you could sum up your points by just saying "we got buck". cause no one messes with Buck. he's the best manager in the game in the last 20+ years.

Well done. With Buck, we will always have great players and a better team than most. Sometimes, it will be the best team.

he is the X factor tho. This same team with anyone else managing it is this years Blue Jays. Nice squad, could put it together but ultimately is mediocre. Buck is worth 10 wins just for how he manages.

Bro I despise baseball but have been watching this series. Only one other Game 7 in the last 11 years. I'll be wearing my Bo Jackson jerz tomorrow night, you can count on that.

I thought they did away with the 2-3-2 home field format, no?

    Sic Game 7!!!

Just trew on the Bo jerz last inning for good luck. Got a runner on for KC but then SF's defense kicked in. Great to see that guy pitching for the third time this series. They used to always do that schitt back in the day and it wasn't a big deal.

Hope this comes down to the wire and really want KC to win. I'm all for spreading the wealth into Middle America when they have no other joy.
