I surf Dolo intentionally most days. It's part of what I get out of it.

Careful what you wish for. BMT will crack necks and kick puppies just for looking funny

Usually 3-4 of us maximum. But the question for OP is, how do you rationalize paddling out with 15 guys being less "lax" than being at a break alone? I assume "lax" means relax. If you just paddled out with 15 surfers, I would think any one of those 15 surfers will be doing more "laxing" due to more people taking waves. The guy that is alone has the choice of any wave they want and can be paddling around and getting rides constantly, equaling less of a lax session. If I wanted to lax and get lost in the mix, I would paddle out to a popular spot and just float around like half the guys in this great state of NH

WRONG. BMT and his crew can surf circles around the best NE locals on any given day. I have seen them riding 4 dudes to a pocket, I thought it was a drop-in fest, but they were hooting each other on and high-fiving while riding mere inches from each other.

4 to a pocket, tucked into their boards like they were sharing a barrel. One dude (BMT?) somehow out-pumped the other three and went to the flats, doing a near horizontal bottom turn and airing out the back. You might not think that's impressive, but while the other three were cutting back in unison, he shot up the face of the wave right front of them, high fiving all of them. I f*cking sh*t you not, this was some Blue Angels type sh*t. Aerial maneuvers.

So in short, no, BMT and his crew do not 'relax' with more guys in the water. They still make sure they get every set wave. Just pray they don't roll deep to your block, cause I doubt you would speak up to a group of fifteen. I doubt it seriously.
