I've always had Norton. Seems like now adays, with Norton, when the subscription expires I can't use the norton I got.
AVG. It tries to take over your internet browser so you need to reset some things. I talked to a tech support guy on the phone last week who said it is good though.
I use Norton aswell.even tho I cant tell if it actually works or not,but my computer is super slow.those vine videos everybody posts, after 4 of them it goes to a whitescreen with a circle in the middle.god please kill who ever invented videos that play without u clicking on them
On the real. If you dont work in accounting you should be on a mac. I've had my 13" Pro since 2009 and never had 1 issue with it.
no antivirus with macs for many reasons bscly, you would have to install the virus (trojan) yourself (not just by clicking a link) also like 99% of virus stuff is written for windows
Zone Alarm freebie If you wanna get geeky, there's a group called EICAR that is pretty much the guardians of the internet. They have produced a special text file for use in testing antivirus software. If you wanna test your anti virus, go there and read up. The little text test file should pop up as a virus, even though it isn't, if you download and open it. Read everything before proceeding. It's harmless, but it might be scary. http://www.eicar.org/86-0-Intended-use.html
Anti virus software is one of those things that you kinda wonder if it's really working. How can you know, right? To REALLY test it, create a new blank text document, say on your desktop. Next, copy and paste the small EICAR test file into it, then save. If you then open that new text document, your anti virus software SHOULD alarm and quarantine it. If it doesn't I'd get new AV software, or fix the one you have. Enough geekery for one day. Good night.
that looks scary. I'll wait until I'm thinking straight to fug wid id. Norton has caught a lot. When I first got it I always had it at the most sensitive setting(if that's the right terminology) Right after nine 'leben were we going to see the Pen tag on. I went to driving directions and put in P'gon and as soon as I clicked it, my norton started flagging "unauthorized access". I immediately simulated a power failure, and never wrote Pent a gon again.
Norton here...and, yes, I know it's working. Used to use McAfee until IE got hijacked...well, I reinstalled my OS, switched to Mozilla, kept using McAfee and got hijacked again. Haven't had any problems in the 9 years I've been using Norton.
It's cheaper not to re up with the window that pops up telling you how many days left but to go to the site yerself.
Don't do a bunch of sketchy sh** online and you don't need it. Stock windows defender is just as good if not better than those other programs.... I have all my anti anything software turned off because it creates conflicts with some of the streaming I do. It messes with IRC, BitTorrent and all that stuff. With that being said, just don't use anything and if your machine starts acting funky, just download malwarebytes free version. Run a scan. Clean everything up. Remove the malwarebytes from your PC and registry, then do it again if it acts up. Reminder: You only get viruses (computer) from doing sketchy things. Period.
