She has a full page add in todays' nytimes on behalf of a real estate company. Can she surf (don't talk to me about contests)? or is she the latest marketable commodity?
The difference between the men's and the women's pro surfing levels is pretty simple. If you're a lower level male surfer you wait on tables or work dead-end jobs while trying to make it on the tour. If you're a lower level female surfer you flare your ass cheeks in a bikini & get paid (Blanchard, Davis, et. al). Blanchard hasn't won anything on the tour, yet she's in many ads for gear. Blanchard is to surfing what Anna Kournikova was to pro tennis. Not that I'm complaining. Just making an observation in re our cultural asspects. T&A sells in women's surfing. Coco Ho, Carissa Moore, Sally Fitz are 23 or 24 years old. Davis is 19...shouldn't she be on the pro tour if she's got the surfing chops?
you are a million percent correct that the New York Times sucks repeat really sucks. unfortunately, their information gathering network is second to none.
so, what you're saying is its just a coincidence her pretty face and bared righteous abs are facing the camera while she removes the lower portion of her wetsuit?
