So just to be clear, to you opinions can't be racist?

And the comment couldn't have even really been about Eddie, because, as you say, he isn't Hawaiian. It was clearly directed at Hawaiian people at large.

I still fail to see the racism here. The facts are that HI depends HEAVILY on tourism and he wants that stopped and HI to be it's own country which means the military is gone and that is another HUGE revenue stream. Factor that with the fact that HI is very little industry and natural resource and you have the makings of a third world economic situation. YOU are seeing racism where there is none.

Eddie was able to intimidate the ASP in years past as the guys who were running the show actually thought he was someone to be feared. Now with ZoSea in charge with a bunch of people who most likely don't give two craps about who eddie rothman is and what da hui means i don't think it'll make a difference.

eddie is a big fish in a little pond and ZoSea are the guys coming to drain his pond without a second thought.

I still don't believe you would make that argument to a Hawaiian person, even in the kinder, gentler way you are framing it now. And there is a reason for that. People on here feel free to talk about "those people," whatever non-white group that may be, because they imagine that this is a "safe" space, composed entirely of other white people, nodding their heads and chuckling along. That's garbage behavior.

maybe so, but it's still not racism. Have your been to the NS? The Hawaiians there are some of the racist people on earth (real racism too)

not to derail the arguement but i don't think there would be any wild pigs if it wasn't for whitey. we brought them and they got loose. they even got wild cows over there.

for the record i wish i lived out of a hut on a tropical island and hunted wild pig with a spear everyday. if someone came up to me and said" im the reason you don't have to do that anymore", id kick him in the shin.

Not sure about that. Zosea exec's may not care about Eddie or fear him, but there has to be guy's there actually setting up the event. And they will have to deal with it.

It's called economics sbx, not racism. Whether or not they are better off is arguable, but I don't see the racism. You probably think the Redskins should change the name of their football team too.

Very very good point on the second part, but I think pigs came with the original Hawaiian settlers.

maybe if the hawaiians were good enough there would be more on the tour? NJShredmachine is unsimpathetic to rothmans complaints.... so I hear.

And Eddie Rothman is a fraud that perpetuates the negative side of Hawaiian culture, and unfortunately reflects the common beliefs of many Hawaiians. Although there are many that still exude the true spirit of aloha, they don't appear to be the majority.

you think the pre history hawaiins were farmers who brought pigs on canoes as they crossed the pacific?

    yeah

"The pig is not a native animal. Only the Hawaiian hoary bat and Hawaiian monk seal are native mammals here. The original small black Polynesian pig arrived with the ancient Hawaiian settlers. The feral (wild) pigs that roam the forests today are a cross between the Polynesian pig and the later-introduced European boar."
