Yesterday in RI, me and a friend headed over to a nice, long point after a fun sesh at Matunuck. Both of us were wearing 3/2's no boots, we were already soaked and cold, got out, got in the extremely warm water.

    Water: 66 Air: 52 Wind: NW @ 15 mph

We were freezing in the water the whole time, it was the wind that made me want to pull out the 4/3. If we wanted to warm up we would have to go underwater.

What would you do? What wetsuite would you pull out for a session like this?

when choosing a wetsuite - different factors play in.....
water temp? sure; but as our friends complaint shows...it can be beautiful and warm..and still freezing...
make the choice to be warm.....cause those that make the wrong choice always do the same thing.

they get out before they had to.

You got cold in your 3/2 so I guess you'd go for a warmer suit. If you have a 4/3 thats a good place to start. 20 years ago you used to see people out in January in trunks because the internet didnt exist to tell them it was getting freezing cold out. Those were crazy times.

Is smoke a doob and bang some Hindus an acceptable answer?

That's always a highly acceptable answer and/or passtime.

On the subject of wetties, I was surfing Folly on Sat and saw some funny stuff. It was 82F air temp and 75F water temp, yet there were many people out in full suits. I was quite comfy in boardies alone.

Dude. What ever you do- like mentioned before- just make sure you have cool colors on your wetsuite.

    Don't worry about the cold.

I got a sweet under armour shirt from Marshall's that I will wear in these windy conditions. Helps with the wind chill. Plus I could still rock my suite with its sick colors...

Water 68, Sat afternoon I was in a 2mm top and trunks. I wouldn't recommend it but my other option was 4/3 which I thought would be overkill. 2.5hrs until I was cold enough to get out.
And there was a guy in a hood and booties next to me. 3/2 would have been perfect or farmer.
