Haha! He kinda missed the hit though. Head to one side, shoulder in gut, wrap the arms, celebrate.

If you pause it as the "dropper" first enters the screen, you can see he turns his head and looks right at the guy. So Blatent.

This a fair, appropriate, and relatively safe response. quid pro quo

This was posted a few weeks/months back. And it still hasn't gotten old at all. If someone drops in on me now, this is what I attempt to do. Came close to tackling someone last saturday lol. Vice versa too, my buddy had the opportunity to tackle the sh!t out of me when I called party wave and effed up the drop and nearly kill him with my board... He was a little pissed and rightfully so, but there were plenty of waves to go round :)

this is true; perhaps, though...a caveat.
did the rider let the goon know the score?
was he silent which encouraged goon?
or did he say HEY HEY HEY GTF off my wave??
on this video i'm guessing the rider followed protocol....which prob stoked his anger.
but if you say nada sometimes (just sometimes) you're asking for it.

disagree. gotta look to see if someone's behind you. & if you gotta look, you're not deep enough.

the proper response is, "Thank you very much. May I have another?"

This has been posted before, but it's funny. Poor tackling technique but i'm sure he got the message. I have never seen so many drop ins in my life till this past week. It gets the point where if you can't beat em join em, or get out the water before it gets too dangerous.

whenever i get dropped in on in the summer by some kid on a soft top or longboard, i just grab their board and guide them off the wave so that i can still surf the wave on my own

Let me tweak the question: what's the proper response when a 70 year old man drops in on everybody? There's this geezer cruising the lineup in NH and ME and he's older than the ocean. Not one of those silver haired shredders but a true geriatric. He is bald and has a white splotchy pirates beard. His skin looks weathered like a drunken fisherman. I call him Super Pre-Death 5000. He rides a beefy 6'6"-7' fun shape. Same thing every wave--- picks the wave up regardless of right of way, he cuts someone off to a 70/30 blended look of irritation/astonishment, then he turns, and rides it parallel to the face. Then he paddles back out and repeats. Dude will cut off 20 people an hour. His wave count is massive. Maybe he is like "I'm gonna die soon so eff it." Maybe nobody says anything to him is because he is gonna die soon, and he might die in response to unwanted comments. So far my strategy with this guy had been waiting for him to die. On the other hand, I hope I am that dude in half a century from now.

that's a good response to someone if they asked why he dropped in on them

Noserail grab... up and over the back. I can even do it one-handed... and keep riding on.

Simple, non-violent way of removing the offender, and works regardless of age, board type, size or skill level.
