Any feedback on riding the WRV's Slayer model or Lost v2 DOMESTICATED? Anyone spent time on both and had a chance to compare? Trying to decide on the next board for waist-high-and-above punchy beach break. Dimensions for a 5'8" in both models look very similar but I don't know much about the rocker on WRV slayer. Thoughts, feedback, experience...

All I know is that I Love my v3 rocket...probably the best all around board in my quiver and has held up great. That one is a keeper!

Thanks mrcoop, how's that v3 rocket holding up on bigger/more hollow days? Anyone else, ridden lost's v2 domesticated shortboard or WRV's slayer?

What's the largest surf you've ridden your v3 in? Do you have a pretty good idea of where it starts to max out?

Haven't had it in real big stuff...head high to a little overhead semi steep was the largest...no problem.

I don't know much about the concave, rails, etc. of the slayer. WRV website compares the slayer to their 'chronic' model, which appears to be a pretty standard HPSB. The slayer looks like they took the volume of a HPSB and pushed it into a board a couple inches shorter, the popular theme (shorter, wider, thicker), without being a true groveler.

Most of my boards have been had slightly fuller rails, lower rocker, and either single concave all the way or single-double out fins. I like those characteristics but I'm interested in progressing my surfing further in terms of turns/rail work. I've ridden shorter boards with a SB plan shape but nothing on the extreme performance end of the spectrum (rocker/rail-wise). Surfing NC and SE coast 95% of the time, so really just searching for something that turns on during punchier EC swell. My last shortboard was 5'10"x18.5"x2.25" and I'm 145lb, 5'8", intermediate level, if thats helpful.

Thoughts/suggestions for any other boards are welcome.

I've been riding mayhems for a while and have had a bunch of shapes. haven't gotten to ride the v2 but have felt it up. its a single concave with a good amount of tail rocker... perfect combo for punchy powerful beach break... i prefer some double concave out the back and have loved my beach buggy, just got another xtr buggy done in a 5'10 in addition to my 5'9. i also have a driver. deep single concave with some vee in the tail. sub driver should be the same just smaller and fatter. i had, but sold b.c it was to much volume sized it way off. id look into either sub driver or a v2 domestic. in like a 5'7 or 5'8 ... were you going stock or custom ?

Most likely stock, if possible. I want the board to perform but I have a hard time spending the extra money on a custom shape from the "big-name" shapers...maybe it's worth the extra $..? Thanks for the feedback, that's helpful.
