Listen here little buddy I'll drop my 0.02 whenever I want! $600 on boards for travel is ridiculous we're not talking about disappearing to Sumatra here...
its all about wanting to ride your own equipment and having the variety of equipment to ride all types of surf - not the fact I like to pay that much for boards to travel but to clear it up it was $620 - don't worry tho u can probably get your soft top on free
Woahhh dude! I said it must be nice....I'm sure your pretty nice bagus. You taking the old he's sponger route there bro. That's cool I can respect that. Where you expecting me to stroke your ego bro tell you how dedicated you are bro. Man youz guyz are the only people with respectable opinions I guess....
Round trip? That makes sense. Even with Jet Blue it would be $500. Where did you go that you brought 5 boards? Must have been a hell of a trip
St. Lucia is a beautiful island great for hiking but the only surfing you're doing there is with a kite or windsurfing. The northern coast of the Dominican Republic has waves, is affordable and if your fiance is like my wife, not too third world. With that said, if you have money for St. Lucia then you have money for Barbados or Costa Rica which both always have waves.
My motto is "if it aint broke don't fix it". My wife really enjoys it down there and makes it really easy for me to surf every day and doesn't nag or bug me about it. I surf, and she shops, it works out. I've talked to her about other places and I think CR is next on the list but PR is so convenient and inexpensive compared to everything else, it's just over 2hrs from Orlando to Aguadilla and don't need a passport or anything. Nica sure looks and sounds awesome, I might be able to convince her of that trip but it would take her feeling comfortable about the situation down there like she feels about PR. We haven't had any issues down there after 3 trips so she feels safe. Bobby at Mar Azul really has a good thing going down there.
That's cool! I went to PR in 2001 and got skunked! Swell started coming in my last day there. Haven't been back since. Haven't been to NICA either but they have a few nice wedge spots that I'm pretty stoked to check out personally.
What month did you go last time? I don't blame you, If I were flying solo I'd be there in a heart beat. I'm going to slowly work on her for other trips after this one, although she likes the idea of going there every 6 months, and it's hard to say no to that. HAHA
May it was my junior year of high school I went with this chicken I was dating at the time whos grandparents lived there. Dude that's suite that she's cool like that!
Gotcha, probably just outside of peak season so it's hit or miss, and unfortunately for you it was a miss. I have gone in Oct. and April and got it good all three times. I know it's even better from November - March, but it's also more crowded. Maybe give it another try some time?
I was debating that but, it was like you know I already been there so why not go somewhere new that's still on the cheap side.
I've been absolutely killing it as of late on priceline for hotels, couldn't tell you how they are on flights though. If you're looking for hotels, 100% check them out.
Even if he were, there are airlines flying to Indo that don't charge any bag fees. When we went to Sumatra our boards (six of them) flew for free.
