I've convinced myself i'll rock the 4/3 all year hoping the booty and mitts with sheep furs will compensate...If I owned more rubber I'd probably wear it tommorow AM.

I spearfished yesterday in 5/4 for about an hour and a half before I got cold, a 4/3 with hood boots gloves is fine but those winds and air temp are going to be rough, I'd probably just use the 5/4. It's early, usually my 4/3 gets me to January

5/3 hooded suit, 5mm boots and gloves. it's gonna be 28 degrees and 30 MPH gusts. that's a sure way to keep "warm". if you're wearing anything less, have fun.

Surfed Saturday morning (in LBI) with my hooded 4/3 and 3 mil boots--in the water about 3 hours or so. Hands got cold probably around the last hour or so...wind wasn't howling at 45mph, but wouldn't matter as the water temp felt relatively fine with the hood/thicker suit. I really don't like wearing gloves and put it off as long as I can...guys around me were in 5mils and probably had 5 mil gloves and boots. I still thick you could get away with it...

Also...I had the hot water jug ready to go once I got out...love that thing!!!

5/4 boots/gloves first light/dawn patrol session...4/3 hooded as day progresses and back to 5/4 for the close.

Also while the waters still pretty warm, paddle out you winter gear Now. Discover/take care of/replace leaky suits/boots/gloves. I do this Every year, started last week, rather than get caught out with failing equipment.
I'm in RI for geographical reference.

I wasn't trying to insult you before, I was surprised you needed gloves south of here, and you explained that you have poor circulation. I doubt I'll surf tomorrow, unless the wind forecast changes, I'm north of you and I hate the way west wind turns out up here. A hooded 4/3 and a 5/4 (presumably also hooded) just seem like they serve the same purpose to me, and I'm surprised that people have both.
