By 12, I already had all Zeppelin albums, Janice Joplin, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Dead Milkmen, Primus, and some hair bands (Def Leppard). Between my parents and my uncles, I had a nice mix.

Yeah by 12 I was over my rap phase and balls deep in Zeppelin and Hendrix, dawn of my punk and early alternative music phase which has been going on now for 20 years.

    Mr Barbeque.

Damnit I should've used Mr. Barbeque as my handle.

Between all the Internet radio choices and torrents, I don't see much reason to buy music anymore.

Stoner. Same here. Both of my neighbors were huge hippy burnouts. I used to flip through their albums as a grade school kid and wonder what the demonic and trippy cover art was all about. Then I realized, in middle school, how awesome all of those albums were. That was the jump-off for basically all the music I listen to today. Oh, and my sister was a big-hair metal-head, and my momz was a hippy back in the day too.

While we're expressing hate for nickelback, creed, et all, I'd like to throw these guys on the cross too...

Staind is not even close to NB and Creed. They're in a suck by themselves.

Bro, the Floyd has a new album out. First since Division Bell in '94. It's typical acid rock. Fairly deece. A bit like MLOR which I think is their second best album to Final Cut. I'll get crucified for that but I'm sticking to my guns. I see those albums in a different fashion.

by the way, i am no music aficionado by any means. i am certain a Nickelback fan out there shreds way way harder on the guitar than me, and can name every guy who played in Sabbath (you try it off the top of your head, you'll fail). i just know that i have a very solid understanding for what is musical crap, what is listenable, and what is timeless awesomeness.

Yeah Endless River is pretty cool. Not as good as Animals however.

I just came to the realisation of how humourous this is. The SI vernacular is coming full circle!

Agreed, they represent a different kind of suck and stoopid.
