I'm hoping FUN is just having fun with us... Stained, Nickelback, Theory of a Dead Man, Puddle of Mudd, make me pray for temporary deafness. How do I know of these bands? I'm a high school teacher... I do my best to enlighten students when it comes to music. I have had some successes. Last year a student gave ME a graduation present... Flaming Lips, Transmissions from the Satellite Heart album on vinyl. Because I had them do a music video to She Don't Use Jelly. I gave another student the Beatles Anthology, bootlegged of course, because he thought the Cirque de Sole "Love" CD WAS the epitome of the Beatles. He gave me bootleg T Rex Cds when he graduated.
i go on reddit a lot and people on there love nickelback, so i thought i'd give them a shot, and i've loved them ever since (well, maybe not as much after their latest album LOLOL very disappointed). once i started listening to nickelback i was also recommended to creed and black eyed peas from my friends on halo. i personally think that my music taste is a lot more advanced than the rest of my friends at school. one of my friends at school recommended me to look up some band called 'a quest called tribe' or something like that. and let me tell you that they are HORRIBLE. it sounds like jazz mixed in with some voices from 10 year olds. no thanks

+1 for King Tubby... .Agustus Pablo, Tosh, Burning Spear.... Couldnt believe this thread. Please stop listening to nickleback for the sake of humanity. listen to classic rock stuff like your second mom and enjoy the reggae. Try out some Ska too... Slackers and Skatalites.
Fun, There's a whole big world of music awaiting you out there. Don't settle for the crap they are selling in the mainstream. Nothing wrong with listening to some cheesy stuff but ya gotta know it's cheese. There are good and bad in every genre of music so don't limit yourself!
