A 4/3 is a good suite for now. Water is still kinda warm. Guys are out in 5/4s tho.

BUT WAIT... I just noticed- your surfing Belmar,NJ! Well you do know that due to the laboradors that will you not need wetsuite?? That's right! The water is a nice and warm 68 as we speak! Thank the laboradors for that one!

You could rock a 3/2 in Belmar, but most of the guys usually just rock the 3/2 around town. You know, dunkin donuts, 3 bros pizza and DJais

You know, it's all about the air temperature this time of year.

I love that DD. If it weren't for that place being there, my suites would smell a lot more like urine.

    4/3 + 3 mil boves and gloots.
543 May be a little warm, but not unbearable. You'll be able to surf for like 8 hours without getting cold.

Double-edged sword on wearing too thick of a suite for the conditions - dehydration sets in quicker from oversweating. I like to find the balance and optimal range of warmth and body temp. Dehydration on a cold day will end similarly bad (cramping) as going hypo for insufficient rubber. We always want the most comfortable session that also has highest ergonomics and performance.

Kinda sorta off topic. Have y'all seen booties on Whiskey Militia? I've seen suites and gloves, but no booties. Should I wait? Gonna need to pull the trigger elsewhere unless Whiskey's gets em soon. My geezer toes don't like bein cold. Thanks!

    this should work.
acnjh20 about 8 deg less than delbaybuoy.
    today its' reporting 53.
prob 45 or so.....in actual surf zone.
got colder sooner this year than last two.
if we have a winter like last; well, you'll never leave hawaii again...
    house pipe freeze-ups happening sooner....

Those look nice. That dang water gold cold FAST this year. Already like Feb out there in the Gulf. I was hoping someone has seen booties for sale at Whiskey Militia in the past. If so, I might wait. Otherwise, gonna have to pay full price, $50 - $80 for some warmth.

Agree. We were just talking about that. These water temps in the mid 50s or so.....get a warm sunny day with some light winds and you would be fine in a 3/2 and boots. The next session it could be 35 degrees out with a howling NW wind and you'd want your hooded 5/4.
