Has anyone here tried Maca powder as an energy supplement or other health benefits? http://www.livestrong.com/article/26545-benefits-maca-powder/
I know a dude who sells something similar. Your supposed to be able to exist on just the supplement. It apparently has everything you need nutrition wise... I'm good on that sh1t though..... I enjoy eating.
Bruh, exist on maca alone? You need calories and many other nutrients and vitamins. It is great stuff though. Also, you may have some intestinal unrest from this stuff. Only bad side for some.
Yeah bro that's a meal replacement and full vitamin/mineral/supplement profile. Much different than just maca alone. Lots of things in that one.
Yeah, I don't think there is anything that replaces a meal. That's why I'm 5'10 190. I'll be 200 by March. Jokes aside though, it can't be good for you
I know one guy who swears by it. Keep it away from Mrs. XX though, supposedly it makes them very fertile. Or just wrap it up and enjoy the ride.
Supposed to be good for depression and menopausal women. Not that the latter concerns most of you guys. It's also an added ingredient in this product: Not that you horn dogs need any supplemental enhancement in this area.
I used maca for years. honestly looking back its hard to say if I noticed anything special, but it is hard to say since I started taking it when I started a vegan lifestyle and my energy and endurance increased regardless. I haven't used it much in the past year mainly cuz im now eating a high carb vegan diet and already have enough energy and no need for any kind of stimulants. I like the taste though especially in a smoothie with raw cacao, bananas, and almond butter, with almond milk. I recommend trying it though and see how it works for you. best in a smoothie. if you do buy it go on Amazon for the best deal. buy the straight up 100% organic free trade powder in 1 pound bags. the health food stores and vitamin stores are complete rip offs. at least 10 times more expensive.
I like my healthy food from a giant corporation. I also like it delivered in a big brown truck that uses tons of gas. I mean who cares if I dont support local business, as long as my vegan lifestyle is the envy of every other hipster
Thanks, Arch, for your input. Heath food stores are certainly more expensive, but a 1 lb bag of organic, free trade Maca from a local health food store vs online was $5 more. In this case $24.99 vs $19.99. I later found it for $17.99/lb on another site. Don't know if it was organic/free trade. That's not including any shipping cost. Spent the extra $5 and bought a 1 lb bag from a local store. The gal there was cute. Will give it (the powder) a try.
from that douche comment sounds like you're the one who's envious of my vegan lifestyle. most maca you buy at the local health food store are delivered on big trucks using tons of gas. most of those supplements come from large companies. high quality maca is grown only in Peru so shopping for it online offers you the opportunity to buy directly from the grower, douche. I try to buy most of my food from the farmers market or grow it myself but its slim pikins this time of year. so I don't really see how I can eat fresh fruit and veggies if its not grown and delivered from elsewhere. btw where does the gas you put in your car come from? how bout the wetsuit you wear? does someone in your town make your close for you from locally grown cotton? what about the keyboard that your typing the hate comments from? I think supplements are for people who don't eat a healthy, well balanced diet, or people who have special dietary needs due to medical conditions or extraordinary physical demands. If you eat a wide variety of whole foods, organic whenever possible, and you live an active lifestyle, there's little reason to take supplements. As for vegetarian/vegan diets, that's not how our bodies have evolved, but if you're into it for moral reasons... to each their own.
I expressed this to Heavy D but I'll put it out to the group too.... I'm hoping maca might be a good replacement for coffee. I'm hoping my guinea pig Mr. XX comes back with some good results.
Mr. XXX? lemmiwinks? and archy, king of the snobs, I didnt direct my comment at you, but you seemed to catch feelings. I hope you are ok if you are going to talk about a healthy lifestyle and being conscious, buy locally and dont tout amazon for keerist sake. believe me son, I know about wetsuits and boards and petrol, the supply line and the whole nine. but if your gonna be holier than thou, go all the way and support the people in your community tool
