lol so my brother saw that movie the day it came out and he was most likely baked when he saw it. so he came home for the weekend after and he was freaking out about how amazing and enlightening the movie was. my mom caved in and saw it last friday. she came home and told me, "your brother must have been stoned when he was watching that movie because it was ridiculously boring."

i just sat there and said "oh really?", but in my head i knew my mom was spot on

Your mom couldn't be more wrong. This movie was enlightening and unbelievable. How about you see it for yourself to make the judgement. Ridiculously boring is no where near an accurate description of this movie. Although a certain intellectual level is important and an open minded view too needs to be there. See the movie yourself then pass along the judgement.. Someone says the waves were great or terrible, you'd rather check them yourself right?

    Spoiler alert:

It starts off in the not so distant almost distopian future. Blights are wiping out the worlds food sources. Not many ppl left.

Matthew McConnescrotumy just happens to be an ex- nasa pilot turned farmer and discovers secret underground nasa with his daughter via morse code he sent to his daughter via a time space vortex some 80 scenes later.

He flies to space to save the planet.

"Hold on we might not make it!" flight scene

Spooky time space relativity scene. A planet where a giant wave circles the earth and due to its proximity to a black hole every minute on the planet is 7 years on earth or something. People die. Another holy sheet we might not make it scene.

Science stuff and fighting. Tough decisions. Anne Hathaway shows DSL's that she ain't putting to good use.

Matt Damon is alone on an ice planet and tries to kill McConnebuttplug. Another flight scene.

    Tough decisions. Another flight scene.

Science stuff that probably isn't remotely plausible but enough to trick a layman into believing it could happen.

Time space stuff. His daughter is 80 and the head of nasa. They are reunited on a floating space station that is the new earth.

Another flight scene. Ambiguity. Suggests he will plow Hathaway and repopulate another planet.

    The end.

LOL Loved the whole sypnosis. Written in a way in which I can actually understand.

Agreed. Way to many "We might not make it" scenes. You pretty much knew they were gonna make it. ...every last thing was so dramatic and down to the last second it took away from when it was dramatic and down to the last second.

Had potential but for me there were too many plot holes and it just didn't "work".

Wasn't a terrible movie. Wouldn't go back and watch it again by myself if youknowwhatimean.

My holy grail of space movies is
    The Right Stuff/Apollo 13
    and kinda Armageddon

What nobody here is addressing is...the Continuum Transfunctioner! Its mystery is exceeded only by its power!

    Now that is totally plausible.

When is the last time Anne Hathaway did a nude scene? The Whole Nine Yards?

Do you think she is as wild as she is in Saving Silveraman?

Have you considered knocking out her teeth?

What is an awesome idea is defunding space travel and research as the world is in decline. We are going into full Idocratic mode. Perhaps our country will eliminate those pesky humans devouring resources in other countries so we can have them. USA USA USA

After Earth was alright. Made me want to play Starcraft. The Starcraft 2 is pretty dope. downloaded it the other day. My hiatus from video game technology is over, but surf will cure that...I hope.

Yup. They certainly had plenty of time.

Also kinda odd the dad send his own daughter out to be the one to repopulate the earth no?
