Damn. I was fortunate today. Did Rhodey cats score other than Ryan? Any Mainers step out of their latex barbs and into liquid? Looked like swell was seeping into there real good.
There were a few notherners down here this afternoon that scored for sure, some dude got this left drainer that was absolutely perfect. Second session was a bit of a barrel fest, took quite a few lips to the head, snuck under the lip for a barrel where the foam ball shot me through the roof like a rocket. it was cool.
yeah, I have to give this swell a 10 on the hype train meter chest hi for 60 foot seas? talk about a kick in the nuts. the epic moments happened in the 15+hours of darkness dont sweat it slashie, you didnt miss much and Seldom, I am worried about you, I would prescribe fire, but since I am not an MD, I will just suggest women and go on a surf trip. get barrel in blue tubes by day and pink ones by night rinse with bleach repeat you need it a few K on your cc is better than a criminal record you are reaching breaking point gtfo NOW
up north looked like chaos on the cam. Last night I drove home from northern NY in a snowstorm and a 4 hour ride took 7, and the power was out when I got there. I was shoveling out all day and working from home, and doing grown up stuff. It looked like I only missed chop. I dont want to watch the playback on the Kennebunk cam---I am going to say it was chop and write it off. The drive back wouldve been hellish. Winter is coming.
yesterday evening after work at the pier was fun. Solid head high and every bit 1-2 feet overhead on the sets. Sh!tline was calling it to be "good" today. Called out of work for crappy waist to chest/shoulder closeouts. Drove around for over an hour trying to find a decent spot. shoulda saved the day off and gone to work.
It will be a snowy, old fashion X-mas in Syracuse/Rome NY where a lot of our relatives live. Quite a bit of snow already. Although, it would more news if they didn't get any. Based on my visits to the beach, the surf forecasts and reports on multiple sites this week have been inconsistent but generally over-reporting actual VB conditions. But that's not news.
Don't worry homie, I was in a bit of a bad way yesterday. Exacerbated by a weird Suniliarity-esque occurrence. But as always, I appreciate you crackers looking out.
Definitely scored in Rhode Island these past two days. Clean conditions, big and powerful. Definitely a great swell to be in New England for
This swell was disappointing, too many crappy close outs. I am glad there was a 'be honest' thread leading to this swell. Be honest, would you find fun jumping off the building into the snow. Cold closeouts, at least I got fun couple on the head..still finding sand in places.
While we're being honest... even though I did manage to get a few good ones yesterday, I did catch myself thinking, "this SUCKS" at one point. Did anybody else? I think it was after getting stung in the face by that wind-driven, sideways sleet/snow/ice for an hour.
I thought about it sucking a lil, and ya know, it gets better, but how thankful are ye to be able to do that all all? what about people in cleveland who dont have a clue? puts it in perspective
totally agree. it was the wind that was giving me the "what am i doing?" thought. but Im glad i went. Ocean gives you waves you should surf them.
Interesting that you selected Cleveland as an example, because I have relatives there and I tried surfing Lake Erie once about 25 years ago, it was actually pretty fun but only for the novelty of it. Anyway I was sent this article some years back and just watched a fun documentary on NetFlix about = surfing there: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/10/us/10surf.html?_r=0 http://outofplacemovie.com/
