SC kinda sucked. Couldn't make it out until yesterday, thanks to work. I thought it would be clean leftovers, but it had already dropped to knee. The best days were Monday and Tuesday, but the most I saw from local pictures was maybe chest high.
Killa, your buddy is right, and that "3 month flat spell" isn't a 3 month flat spell either, I surfed literally every weekend of this past summer, I think I might have missed one weekend out of the entire summer, and there were waves that day, I just had other obligations for a change. The key around here is being willing to drive to where it's working the best. There is ALWAYS a rideable wave SOMEWHERE, and every year we get a few swells that light it up like that, just depends on where it's going to hit the best is all.
it gets big, but it doesnt tube like that 'several times a year' your going to have to get footage to prove otherwise there is not 'always a ridable wave somewhere' it has less waves than NJ, you can compare the swell stats on surfline Sissurf and FLsurfDog are in the know, they don't seem to hold your POV, maybe I am wrong, but I am willing to bet you dont know what you are talking about
i always think about how epic florida would be if it wasnt surrounded by the bahamas. Would be far and away #1 on east coast.
no way continental shelf zaps a lot if the shelf was short like obx, that would do more than moving the bahamas move bahamas and shorten shelf...NOW we're talking....
MIS dropping MATH... I scored some lil nuugz at the inlet this morning...sweating **** and ballz in da new 5/4...the inlet janitor was the only one there and that was as I was leaving...just a sweeping away
You just like taking jabs at me. I don't have to prove nothing to you. I know what's up. They know what's up too. But I do know this much. There isn't a person on this forum located in FL that drives as much as me and has the commitment to hit both coasts of FL and drives up and down the coast line to hit the best waves at the best times on nearly every swell. This is one of the only times I didn't make it, and it's only because I surfed every day for a week straight on my vacation last week. I had to go back to work sometime. Not saying the other dudes aren't committed, but most of them stay in their local area and get the waves when they come to them. I don't have that luxury, so I drive TO the waves, every swell. I have a wife that is cool as sh*t and stays in a hotel almost every weekend with me so that I can surf all weekend every weekend or sometimes during the week if it's worth the trip and haven't taken a vaca in a while. Sometimes it looks like that in S. FLA while other times it will look like that in North or Central FL, while it will be flat down South. I could go pull all kinds of photos from swells throughout the year, but anytime I do that you get all jealous and tell me how it only happens once every 5 years. It's the same thing every swell. And for the record I have seen SIsurfdogg claim this type of quality several times per year as well, unless he was joking, which I doubt he was. But who knows, maybe i'm wrong and delusional, Maybe he can chime in here....
Yes there is, because I find them regularly when most other do not. Again, gotta be willing to drive, FL is a huge state with tons of coastline. And no, Jersey isn't more consistent overall not even close when you consider our entire coastline, Jersey is tiny in comparison. I will give you more tubes, that's it.
Hey I like you DSUP but most Florida swells are gutless....MIS is right about that continental shelf...
