I think the points were skewed for slater. They dont want him to win. Its BS. He definitely showed a lot more than Melling. Nothing against Melling, cuz he surfed well. But Slater was definitely surfing it way better. The judges are gonna screw him in the next round, guaranteed!!

Yeah not sure why i dont like Medina. But I want him to lose. A LOT!! Judges love him and give him better scores for no good reason. They will make sure he makes it through round 3. Ef that guy!!

You do know that every competitor has been b!tching about Slater getting overs-scored for years... Now they turned on him?
    Melling earned that win

slater plays golf with ceo speaker. i don't think it would be rigged against him. at least not intentionally.

I disagree. Mellings last wave was definitely not an 8.9 point ride.

Watch the replay... If Slater's Pipe wave was an 8.1, Melling's was an 8.9 for sure.

Exactly... Mellings was the best wave of the heat. I still feel Dusty's first was underscored.

In my opinion they should just have EVERY competitor in the lineup at once- for the entire contest. Whoever gets waves gets scored on those waves. Sunrise to sundown. Dog eat dog.
