So my 9 year old is getting into skating and the talk on other threads about it has got me itching to get back on my board. Also I went and dug up some past photos of parks and backyard stuff around the Raleigh area. Enjoy: Netposer's backyard swim/skate paradise! Vert ramp down the road a ways. Backyard bowl about 10 min form the vert ramp. Huge campout/BBQ/Band party every fall here! Raleigh City Park. I helped tie rebar and spread crete at this one then got to cut the ribbon and make a speech with the Mayor at the opening. Fun day till about an hour in a fruit booter knocked hi front teeth out in the big bowl! to be continued...
Cary Skatepark where I used to teach. This was the new mini ramp we built 3 years ago: My buddies backyard mini. This thing is super fun. Had to saktelite it casue the birch cracked: Launch ramp at the Cary park:
Epic man, so freaking epic! I love some hashbrowns. And also do they still have the Special Lady at the Waffle House on the jukebox?

Nice pics everyone! Getting the stoke going. Never been to Skatopia Jawn. Did take a trip 3 years ago with a bunch of other old guys to Woodward in PA. It was January and we had the place pretty much to our selves. There were 11 of us on the trip and probably 15 other people at the place. Got to ride terrain in 3 buildings there including the foam pits and Cloud 9 vert ramp. That thing is 13 ft! We were in there the second night skating and I look over at this BMX guy on the deck and notice it's Dennis McCoy! We rode with him for an hour or so then went and had some beers.
Yeah how about that cloud nine...I can't hack wearing a helmet let alone any pads haven't been to Woodward in forever. I went to skatopia in 2005... Man some gnarly set ups and wild dudes but they supplied Taco Bell and PBRs all night.... You know that was when punk/metal thrashers use to drink that **** before the hipster movement
Yep back before PBR was "cool". I saw that documentary on Skatopia, it was insane looking. Oh and Shortboarder yes that is me, I got a sweet sponsorship deal with The Waffle House. I get all the scattered, smothered and covered I want.
