very easy. Take Rt 9 from the ferry towards Georgetown to Rt 13. Rt 13 will take you all the way down over the bay bridge.

    google maps this correctly.

I actually would take 113. It bypasses a chunk of 13 that has a ton of lights and speed traps (55 to 35). I took it by accident last year coming home from VA beach and was glad i did. The southern half has no lights whatsoever.

    Secret Route?

A secret route!? Impossible there is only one road down through delmarva Rt. 13, take 113 to bypass Salisbury and all the speed traps and crap. Once you get out of Md into Va it gets pretty odd pretty fast dont count on much scenery or stopping anywhere. Its like traveling back 50 yrs in time, most rural backass place on the east coast.

    well,now i have a decision to make.
why would micah say 9-13 if the 9-1-24-113-13 route is better?
i go to hatteras on 13 all the time but that's from the bridge, not the ferry.
i need the fastest route from the ferry.
    what about 1-50-113-13?

    Rt 9 - 13 use salisbury bypass

Get off the ferry, to your left is cape henlopen state park make a right then your next left on 9 south, take that to either 113 or 13. Its just a preference thing almost. 113 takes you a little bit more out of the way hugs the coast almost, but has less lights and less time on route 9. If you take 13 make sure the use the bypass around salisbury, dont take business 13 itll just slow you down and add like 45min to an hr on your drive with traffic lights and ridic. slow speed limits for a highway. I lived in delmarva for four years for school and I would constantly complain about the ridic. slow ass speed limits. Rt. 50 to OC is 50 mph, even though you are driving through miles of cow sh*t and soybean farms

Micah was correct to begin with. 9 west to 13 south is the best way, provided you take the salisbury bypass.

9-113-13 will take a few minutes longer IMO but would be OK
1-50-113-13 would take you through a bunch of beach towns with lights and is nuts.

    I appologize

I appologize for my comments towards the people and places of the eastern shore Va. The eastern shore is a beautiful place in its own. But living on the eastern shore and surfing in OC, DE, assateague only reaffirmed the fact that jersey and elsewhere on the right coast is substantially better than it will ever be there.

this is one of the few occasions i agree with mapquest, i would take 24 to 113.... taking route 9 all the way to 13 (through salisbury (or around)) seems to take you unnecessarily west, as well as into traffic.

Man all I gotta say is that I know a major shortcut from VB to the OBX. Total life saver!!!!

And whoever said something about the speed limits in the delmarva is so correct. 55 on the Highway??!! I think its like 85 out here on CO. You will see signs that say like "sharp curve" 75 mph. Driving the speed limit is gnarly out here.

If you're having challenges in negotiating a route from the Lewes ferry to VaBeach you have no idea what you're in for after crossing the Bay Bridge Tunnel and continuing on to "Cape Hatteras."
