Dude looks like the bros on swellinfo are teaming up is you- I kinda feel bad bro... But maybe you should have take the time to start a hello thread just to introduce yourself ... I mean then we would all know that your part of surfrider, where you surf at, what wetsuite you prefer ect ect.

I would have acted, but I have no real information. Plus I kinda think Christie is cool.

Maybe post the surf rider link.

Just saying bro... Hello thread... Just trying to help a bro out.

It's proposed for 28 miles offshore. No one will ever see it. That's hardly "near" the entrance to NJ/NY.
there will be an underwater pipeline to two submerged buoys at Port Ambrose. It's a very small footprint.
Natural gas is far cleaner than oil as well.
Wind is a great idea, but the technology is just not there.

Are you nuts?? I want that LNG port to go in to NY/NJ. As long as it isn't in my back yard!!! Better yours than mine!! If it doesn't go in there, they might put it in New England somewhere!!
    yours truly, nimby.

Maybe we get Guv Christie to accept a deal... SI doesn't go on a rampage over the terminal. In return, we get a toll plaza dedicated to the timeless honor of one Corey Pohan.

Gov. Cuomo has to approve it too. Based on NY's recent prohibition on fracking, coupled with loud opposition in the communities closest to it, I would guess momentum is against it. But Cuomo is nothing if not a politician, so he's probably balancing how much environmentalist support he would lose by approving the port against how much union support he will lose by vetoing it.

big part of power is this, we could decentralize relatively easily, between solar/wind people could have windmills and solar panels, and wed draw much less power

    do you
    a) get thousands of dollars in batteries and go fully off grid which is illegal in some towns/areas due to politicians not working in best interest of people

    b) pay a fee to hook up to grid, be able to sell back and pay premium to be on grid as someone else built it and should b compensated

windmills, even small residential units are not silent, neighbors complain, but lets look at this: power we need it and we need to get creative how we are going to get it

You communicate like a child. If you want people to listen to what you have to say, try to lead them. Don't just vomit stuff out your mouth. Ask questions and offer useful information.

How will this terminal benefit the people of NJ for which it has the potential to harm? It's my understanding (given without much research to this point) that it would be primarily to support the EXPORT of natural gas. Hardly creates any jobs for the region and only creates profits for the companies equipped to export. It would make all the fracking in PA more viable again. Talk about screwing up natural resources for the corporate good.

NJ/NY coastline accepts the liabilities for this thing if it isn't maintained as it should be. But these large corporations would never allow that to happen would they?...

Some cats on here take more time to attempt humor and rile people up on here than they do taking a stance on anything real. This is not in the best interest of the people.
