I agree with you to an extent.. but at some point humans will probably have to leave the Earth and spread out to new horizons, so its best to start looking now lol. If another planet can support life like Earth, we wouldn't have to bring as much stuff as you would think. It would already have to have water and a good atmosphere for our type of life. Seeding a planet with plants and animals first to see how it goes, then introduce humans. Sounds familiar right? lol. The actual act of getting across the distances is the part that needs to be figured out.. we could store millions of species in some sort of frosen DNA Jurassic park contraption. PLant seeds are small and easy to store too. Send a team - the ARK- out to set up life.. it can be done.

But- If only everyone would take on the attitude that some of us have, and try to work with the Earth and do things in a better fashion. We would be in a better situation fer sure.

ok but the fundamental misstep in this whole fantasy scenario is this: the earth will still be here PUMPING even after our balls-out kamikazee run is history... think about the old saw in surfing: "NEVER LEAVE SURF TO FIND SURF"

I guess you haven't heard about the space station on the dark side of the moon, or that moon dirt is extremely nutritious. It's run by aliens, but we can just eradicate them and take over. Maybe keep some as slaves.

Hi my house is dirty and polluted with my excrement, I'm just gonna leave and get a new one and trash that place since I never learned how to take care of my fist one. then do it again. like a swarm of locusts

seems very sustainable and logical :(

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA BRILLIANT.

    EVEN MORE BRILLIANT!

I have to share--- I went out with a divorced woman this week. She was saying that apparently the crux of her ex marriage was that her ex husband wanted her to plow him with a strap on, and she wasn't having it. For years. Thats a bedroom argument I want to be privy too. Fly on a wall...

i agree we SHOULD take care of our planet.
the question persists, however, as to whether we will.

Also, this thread has me geared up for a planet of the apes vhs marathon...

I do suspect that a plague will kill most of us off and our species will reset itself in small rural pockets, with most of history lost. There is a documentary about life after humans... i think thats what its called... that shows how quickly the world will grow back. Our cities will crumble and be overrun with forests in a finger-snap of geologic time. History will largely be forgotten, and thats probably for the best. This current run we have had as a species is like going home with a fat chick---the less we remember the better.
