Thats cool you recognized that without ever visiting. My hometown is super small and unless football is being mentioned, most people don't know about it. You should try to get out there sometime. I promise not all of the locals are jerks, contrary to what most SI'ers seem to very vocally cry about.
im north of the mason dixon so I don't get to eat it much but if im going south you best believe im gettin me some bojangs!
My sentiments exactly...including the lurking! Could not have said it better KahukuBoy! You won't see much Aloha flowing here. I spent many years on Oahu (not born there). You miss the warm water yet? I was just back there this winter and I am already missing the warm water.
Every time the cold water headaches start to feel like an ax in the noggin, I definitely miss the warm waters back home. Thankfully I was just there for a good chunk of December and absolutely scored on three sides of the island. Of course I surfed nearly everyday I could when I was back. The froth still burns though and I find myself chasing every swell that pops up.
My dad was born and raised here in the south! He went to Laney, '88 grad. C'mon bro welcome me to your spot with open arms and I'll do the same when you come an visit. Unless i'm being a prick, then feel free to 'local' me out of the water...besides...the Hawaiian Island section of this site is even more dead than the southeast...
Dude Blasters is just a little protective of our great Southern Homeland. He's good peoples once you get to know him. If you ask nice like he might teach you the mystical secret of the Carolina Cutback.
You must have caught the east and North swell on the east side no? I was there for a few weeks during that time period and was glad to see it....I was staying Sandy's side. A few memorable days on the NS but the winds were so unpredictable. Yea, I grew up with the headaches but I too still froth at every little swell opportunity!
Yeah my local fired all day. Stoked to share glassy head+ waves with the Kahuku Boys. That was actually a second run of the Kona's...a week or so earlier got good east side too! Surfed a couple new spots, once with just myself and my best bud! Trading waves on days like that is an absolute dream...
...no doubt about it. One day the east side was so glassy and draining. There were a couple of non name brand spots really doing it! I am glad you scored with your friend. Those are the most memorable days.
Welcome to "The Forum". Hope you get lots of waves, and excellent free medical advice on here. This place rocks!
Yeah, just forget about web md, and doctors offices, if something's physically out of order, we can fix it for sure. SI, the best free medical advice on the planet!
This guy sounds a bit too articulate to be Hawaiian, no? Even the shock of Southern education must be mind blowing. Oh, not that he needs anyone's help, but stop sassing RadBrad. If we were in a cool kid movie I'd say...."Hey leave him alone he's with me..." Oh Rad Brad, I'll be checking for that magazine either tonight or tomorrow. Let you know soon. I wish I was in a movie like Heathers or Mean Girls...... Mean Boys....being all cool in high school and shat. Totally b!tchen. I'd totally be the male Lindsay Lohan. Seldom Seen would be Christian Slater in Heathers. Yankee, of course, would be the really snarky handsome guy. Man, I can't wait to get home and get "nice." Real surfers don't work. If you work and are dedicated then you are only semi-real. East side.
Ouch. Is this a jab at Hawaiians or the public education system? Let's just say I was born in Hawaii...not necessarily Hawaiian by ethnicity. I'll take that as a compliment though, mahalo. If we have a "Mean Boys" can I be the Tiny Fey equivalent?
brah i welcome everyone to my home break with open arms , i even take them by the hand and help them if they cant surf. your daddy might be from here but your not man. this is the south there are rules here..it not like hawaii dont bang your sister and its not like neuva jersey dont sleep with your mom and knock people out in the line up. where are you da banks? da c town? da hhi? da w-town?
