micah, i'm trying to figure out why the forecast for south SD is in the shoulder-head high range this morning, and yet i just looked at the wave here and it's thigh-stomach maybe chest at best.

i looked at the time plots -> swell plots and noticed that some swells completely disappear from a certain direction and then come back only a few hours later. how is this possible?

its not that the swell vanishes, and then comes back...

There is a new swell that will be moving in late today and into tomorrow.

Take a look at the wave maps, and zoom out to the west coast view. There is a strong storm sitting right off the NorthWest coast.

This is going to pump is some pretty solid medium period swells for you guys tomorrow.

i don't know if it's new swell, the line on the graph i was looking at was pink and was out of like 290 degrees and seemed to just be blank on the graph for like 4 hours this morning. so when the line came back 4 hours later, that's new swell not an existing one vanishing for a bit?
