on the north end of the island there is another island...on the other side of that is shelter from the trade and a righteous right that starts with a barrel.
I don’t know how true it is but supposedly there is a place called “AC” that’s only surfable in NNW-NW or light N winds. It doesn’t matter what the swell height, direction or period is, the winds just can’t be from any other direction regardless of speed. If so it wouldn’t be SI green and that’s the only condition worthy for real surfing. I'm not sure why this is, maybe because there's no buildings, piers or jetties in this area? Doesn’t matter though because some “experts” are calling for NNE winds @ 25 mph and nothing is blocking that. If it happens to change though, to say NNW at less than 15 mph and SI says its cool to surf, feel free to park where ever you’d like..its too cold for the locals (the ones who have no intention of surfing).
Was referring to the real locals of the non surfing kind Not old guys from Egg Harbor, no need to get offended.
Those AC locals seem nice. I hope I don't catch any flack for this, but it already got blown up today anyway. When I'm looking to score big with nobody around, I head straigh to Nantasket Beach. It's the Belmar of New England.
Come on a$$hole. It's because of jerks like you the squan is so crowded... I was surfing there back in 2010 before anyone knew about it. Just me and a couple of my friends. Now it's packed with kooks because people talk about it on the internet. I've moved north to B**mar and have been by myself since, but I'm sure that will get blown up too soon enough.
I'd only mention the spots that are widely known. Like, if you got in a cab and asked the cabbie to drive you to the surf spot. Other than that, happy hunting!
