Anyone ever had that? Went splat snowboarding and its been a week and still really sore to the touch. Any info on healing time?
Vagisil is contraindicated from what i know. Thats for suspected yeast infections. Im pretty sure that the pain is from an impact injury, however i wouldnt rule out a yeast infection as a complication from the initial injury. Thanks sincerely, i never would have thought to use vagisil.
LOL on a serious note I have no idea, but hopefully you feel better soon before you actually need to see an orthopedist. Must be feelin' like hell.
If you paid attention to what i said, rather than what you wanted to say, it was a snowboarding accident.
this. i went splat on a surfboard; doc said my cartiledge separated from my ribs. hurt like heck; took a while, but in 2 months was back out.
like PDK said, it also took me bout 6 weeks. never went to the doc. did mine surfin. 100% in 2 months.
Dealing with the same issue right now. Fell on my right side playing ice hockey over 2 weeks ago. Just got kinesiotaped over the area last night, but it's best medicine is just time to heal, likely several weeks, and avoiding any movements that aggravate it. I didn't experience the pain right away, even surfed a few times. Shoveling snow and pulling the kids up the hill during sleighriding were all recipes for prolonging it. Ryan
Injured mine this past fall -was bad enough that I almost blacked out when I sneezed. Went to the dr, he prescribed a bunch of weird adhesive wraps/painkillers. Took about 2 months+ before it was tolerable to put enough weight on it to surf. A little over 3 months before I was pain free. I'm gonna bet that your age is going to be a factor in recovery time. I'm in my mid 30's, so things don't heal as quick as they used to.
Busted mine rock climbing many years ago. Only hurt when was breathing. Thank you Mr. Tree for breaking my fall, could have been much worse. Took many beers that day before I could stand. Takes a while to get over it and hardest part is not re-injuring it. Patience padawan, patience.
Cracked a couple ribs a long time ago it took a couple of years to feel completely normal. Good Luck.
The first time my ribs got broke was a car wreck. It took at least two months to heal up, and I started tai chi to regain full mobility. The second time was not as bad, I fell on my rail while eating it on a floater on my longboard in waist high surf, and bruised them pretty bad. That only took aboot a month to feel better, but as soon as it did I got a closeout barrel and reinjured them for another two months. I still surfed, but it hurt. Nothing you can do but let time heal it, and try to avoid repeated stupidity. Don't worry, after a week or so it will only hurt when you laugh, sneeze, poop, or cough.
Fell on my rail coming off a floater on a waist high wave a long time ago. Rail right to the ribs. Like Ryan said, the pain didnt kick in right away. I tried to surf for about another 20 minutes, then the pain forced me out of the water. After that I could not surf for a solid month...tried to paddle out several times - it was during a really consistent fall spell...you know like 15 years ago when we still had those.
