I got stabbed by my fins 2 different occasions. Once in each foot. Hard to tough it when you're chumming.

 

I have scars on both my feet

 

Bacteria could get it infected if its not close to healed, guess it depends on how open the wound is and your ability to fight bacterial infection off should it take hold. I have rolled the dice and it has mostly worked out, but it sometimes delays the healing process and can be annoying.

But honestly, yesterday I got a cardboard paper cut across to fingers. No biggie at all, it's small. But during my session this morning it was getting irritated. I'm guessing from rubbing up on my gloves.

Just something to consider depending how big your scrape is. I'd still say go anyway, if your worried cover it somehow.

 

I went out after having 4 wisdom teeth pulled. Would'nt recommend that. Got dry sockets. But it was a super fun session!

The first time I had to get a muscle and artery removed due to rot. The second time it looked like a half of an apple core hanging from under. I pushed it back in and got it sewn up. If anyone gets cut in the 757, I recommend Dr Adam Billet. He saved my foot the first time and took over it entirely the 2nd. Tell him the guy who's his first presentation in his "Difficult Wound Treatment" lecture says hello and thanks.

 

No salt water on not worth the risk with that being said make sure it clean and patched up and have fun surfing.

 

Woooa! Sounds gnarly as sh*t. Mine started out as little cuts and next thing I know I got a hole in my foot. Takes a while to heal up when it does that.

 

Staph will do that. eat you away from the inside.
The first one of my dictor sewed sand and sea monkeys up in it, then after a couple days they put me in a room to rot there. I came to my senses a few days later, went home and called a real doctor to meet me at a real hospital. While laying in my bed waiting for the new docs to return my call, my dog walked by the end of the bed, stopped, smelled my foot, and started howling. THAT was the scariest part.

 

lol this thread got scary.i was thinking a cut,really??!! then we jump to staph infections,didnt know that was possible in America with all the medicines/ointments we have.but if u surf near a runoff u shouldn't go out with cuts.u get a cut in indo and u come back with 1 leg
