Up until this winter, I used to go surfing 2-3 times a week during winter, when a swell was running. So far, I have gone out 2x in 3 weeks. I am turning 64 on Tuesday. Hate winters. My wife is from Quebec City-- she thinks NH is "south of the border"!!
    Guess I am stuck here.....hahahaha!!!

I'd tell ya to get up in the Blu Ridge Mountains but it's probably damn chilly right now. Do they have a Huddle House or a Waffle House there?

I agree. However, I am going to take a modified approach. We are going to become "snow-birders"; live up here 9 months, migrate to PR (or similar) for 3 months. As I have written before, I grew up in PR, first 18 yrs of my life there. We plan to lease a place there or CR, or somewhere warm. We are presently having a house built near the seashore up here. If we get tired of it, then we will move. Of course, by then, I will have a "surf-walker" to help me stand up on the board!!!

Surfed Fort Point on Monday. Yesterday we hit clean head high at Pacifica then cleanest chest ever down at Steamer's. OB is between DOH-TOH clean, check the cam. We may go see it and take pics and see what pros are there. We were definitely next to pros last night at Steamer's.

Been 75 and sunny here all week. If I didn't get out here this week I was gonna be in an ugly mental place by now. Any of you in NE are better men than I for braving that tundra further, I mean it. You can't even get a return flight to Boston. I'm here til Monday at minimum because every flight I get is canceled and pushed back.

    Emass,
returning to Boston is highly overrated, so don't feel pressured to get back, unless, of course, you have a "promise" at your return....

GET AN ANCHORSTEAM FOR ME BRO
all the beer in costa sucks. Imperial or pilsen, or bahia for the true champions. EMASS book a flight down here. Solid swell for weeks, been spending 6 to 9 hours a day in the water, rooms for fifteen bucks a night admist many french canadian hotties. found me an aussie last night, almost feel bad for importing my yoga girl from Los angeles next week. Its too hot tho, guys got it made up there with all that snow. Check out flights emass, round trip tickets to costa for me were only 298 bucks, nonstop.

Stay out there, don't come back. Seriously. Become homeless. The weather is conducive for homelessness.

Heard that. The jet stream and Atlantic basically moved me out here unknowingly. Not in opposition of it.

Just shott the biggest pier known to man - the Golden Gate. The Hindus there have some Asian in they blood too, round Berkeley and the Valley. With buoy at 7@17 and low tide rising, there were clean pockets and lines there all the way from shoulder to DOH on the plus sets. Got out of the water then smashed the sickest 45 degree bank on the Carver on the edge of the parking lot.

No boasting in any way here braddahs. I'd imagine there's this "no way out" feeling, at least for the New Englanders. Let the fortune my being stranded out here serve as vicarious relief from the vacuum-like abyss of the northeast right now. Mi stoke, su stoke. Even you, patgeds22. If you were here bro, I'd give you priority on the peak then trow a tequila drank your way post-sesh.

Good stuff Emass glad your back to being stoked. Tomorrow's supposed to be -11 and waist high with strong offshores. Excited to surf, deffinitly not excited about the cold. And wish there was more swell like the past few days. It's safe to say I'm jealous

did anyone notice how unually long the periods were yesterday? The way it was approaching the beach was very unusual. Very low and extremely wide waves and of course, powerful. Too bad it was closeing out most of the time.

Ya bud. That current low tide (best tide it seems) is unreal. You're either riding waves to stay in place or at least paddling into them. Sucked right out fast bro. Lots of boulders too. It's an unassuming break until you get out there.

nice dude. calling jet blue, extending my stay here well into april before i go do that pacific coast highway trip again before my fire season. Endless swell down here, and the real waves havent even started yet. First wave of the day this morning at 530 was a freight train barrel left, probably about 6 foot back. Literally first set as soon as I paddled out, had to do the old paddle and turn around to make it before it ate me. Got a few turns and got shacked and thrown face first into the whitewater becasue I took too high of a line in the tube. oh well, It only got better with the tide. Ive been at this hostel for 3 weeks and only anticipated staying a few days while the swell is in town, lucky for me its been 3 weeks of straight alternating Sw and Nw swells, enough to keep both goofy and regulars happy and giving good vibes in the line up. Hopefully we can meet up when im back in the states for a long overdue surf man! that golden gate bridge spot scares the **** out of me but its super fun.

oh and like day 4 of being here my camera fell off a waterfall as my friend was passing it to me on this sketchy rope/cliffed out section. Got a crappy camera phone now, but its hard to find the motivation to go take pictures after back to back 4 hour dawn and dusk patrols, easier to just drink a few Pilsen´s and try to convince some cute foreign girls Im worth making a mistake for.
