This has nothing to do with surfing, but I don't have a subscription to any tech sites. I really want an iphone, but I am a Verizon customer. I don't want to switch to AT&T because everyone I know has Verizon and I like the service. I see videos on YouTube from people that unlock the iphone for Verizon and will sell you instructions and/ or programs for doing so. Others say that it is impossible because the iphone is incompatible with other networks. My question is does anybody know anyone that has done this? Is it completely impossible?
i think it can be done but i believe the iphone auto updates the software. so if you hack an iphone and a sw update is automatically downloaded the connectivity could break. Also, ATT and Verizon both use different types of networks (GSM vs CDMA) so i would imagine the iphone antenna can't pickup the cdma network. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=428518
I have the HTC Fuze and it owns the iPhone. Yes it is on AT&T just like the iPhone but all I had to do was ask AT&T for the unloack code now I can carry it anywhere in the world and use it with any SIM I want. Reasons to get the Fuze.... ----> this site owns you! http://www.fuzemobility.com/ AT&T for this area and everywhere I have traveled is awesome. My phone worked in Japan, Indo, Costa Rica, Antigua and many other places around the world. The Fuze is also more for the IT guy, it has tons of open source free applications.
i work for vzw, its impossible to use the iphone, anyone who says they can is trying to scam u. try the storm i have it, its a global phone and i love it. some people don't like it because their running the old software on it. give it a shot, you'll like it
The Storm's touch screen is terrible. Everyone I've messed around with. Clicking is about an inch from where my finger is. Fix that VZW guy.
yes...this is true.....it's a scam. The storm on the other hand is a cool looking phone with and some cool features BUT the operating system stinks. Verizon tried....but didn't get it right yet. Like stated the HTC Fuze is the way to go....kicks the iphones butt. I have the clunky G1 which has Android an open source platform. I like it a lot just wish the phone was smaller.
How is the Web Browser on that thing? That is one of the main things I'm looking for. I know the browser on the storm is not bad (I think that is what I am going to get). But I wanted the iphone because the action seems alot smoother, and seems to have more attractive and/or useful applications.
Since it's open source the fuze can download several web browsers. you can choose which one you like.... unlike the Storm & iphone. The fuze is just like the G1 Android which was called the iphone killer when it was released. The only real difference is the size. I would go for an open source platform. Super smooth and way more versatile.
Opera is good, Firefox is porting a browser for it, and there is IE and many others. If you get the Fuze you cannot go wrong. I can send you like 10 links to make the phone everything you want. I have so many apps on it. Also on the iPhone you can't expand the RAM, Fuze right now is 32GB external card supported. The link I posted has about 1 to 2 new apps a day. Anything from footprints which is unreal to Google Maps with street view to FM radio. Another must use site. http://blownfuze.org/
