No doubt. Drilling is awesome and it sucks and it's awesome and it sucks and it's awesome and it sucks and it's awesome and it sucks and it's awesome and it sucks and it's awesome and it sucks and it's awesome and it sucks and it's awesome and it sucks and it's awesome and it sucks and it's awesome and it sucks and it's awesome and it sucks. I'm gonna go barf in my gas tank and see if my truck still runs.
serious question here, how does the offshore drilling affect the waves?make em better, make em worse? when I think of offshore drilling,im thinking of those little semi big towers in the sea(platforms).reason I ask is I seen a lot of vids of California and peru? with perfect barrels and those big towers in the background.theres 1 spot im sure u people know of I think its peru but I could be wrong where theres platforms everywhere and they have great waves. other than being an eyesore and a potential environmental meltdown with a leak or spill
Think of all the jobs it'll create. Picking up dolphin carcasses would take a crew or two. And Corexit doesn't spray itself on our food.
If you don't mind getting pitted and slicked down like Snookie on a Friday nooner, I think oil rigs off our beaches are pretty cool. They make the waves oil slick glassy, and keep the annoying sea mammals and sharks away. And especially they keep those god damn seagulls from pooping on us while we are enjoying the pristine smell of diesel fuel during the paddle out. All in all a win win. Yes the computer and the digitized code are all made of petroleum products, as are our very cellular make up so there fore it is sacred and should be propagated like an ISIS oil slick. the situation is peru is deceiving. you know how a 30knot wind can really whip up the surf here? well, in peru, that never happens. the ocean is calm; whitecaps virtually unheard of. a rig getting pummeled by waves (as opposed to surf) is rare or non-existant. why is the ocean so calm? if you were an easterly trade wind - which pervades at that latitude - you would slam into the andes mountains and crash to earth along with any moisture carried. hence - the largest river in the world. and dead calm on the other side.
There is a public meeting in Annapolis on Monday, March 9th from 3-7. The BOEM, which is the fed agency responsible for the proposal, is taking public comment. I'm heading up from the Delmarva region and would welcome company if anyone else would like to join me. PM me if you are interested
